What's new

Telugu police visiting UP were beaten up severely because they could not reply in Hindi.

This news is so unbelievable on so many levels.
The govt offices cannot speak little bit of hindi. Ok let go hindi, officer cannot speak 2 lines of english to say he is from ATS. Even let go english, he just cannot take out his ID card and flash it ?
How stupid is this news to believe really.

What are the likelihood an Indian official can't speak both Hindi and English? Isn't one of these two language is sufficient. If an Indian speaker can't speak English but only Hindi, than it's his fault for not speaking both of the main language.

Indian constitution is written in English. It's the authoritive language of Indian law. It's means supersede all other languages if there is any confusion in meaning during legal interpretation.

Get a grip on life. News is from Microsoft MSN. It is not publishing fake news about Hindi-ans.

1. I have a pretty good grip on life and these affairs (especially), thank you.:-)

2. I am sure you would not like me to tell you how you do your specialized job unique to you, similarly, on a defense forum, in matters of defense, do not tell me about Indian defense setup - both homeland and external. First go and learn about Telangana ATS, and it's language requirements keeping in view that there is a large Urdu speaking population in the state in addition to Telugu, and this Urdu speaking population has had instances of wannabe ISIS agents being arrested.

3. But then, expecting this of majority of members here (using their higher faculties to understand, assimilate and deduce), is like expecting the sun to rise in west indeed!

Cheers.
:enjoy:

PS read again ... sourced India Today. I rest my case as at Point 3 above.;)

LOL at all these comments by the usual quarters of every description.

The dissonance with reality is just too damn high!

And the usual 95% clause I keep quoting holds ..... the idiots will not be able to discern the truth ....!!!

Exemplified indeed.

Learn Hindi or get out.

Such a useless comment.

I hope you would seriously consider moving into the remaining 5% of people who think before posting.

Telangana is home to Hyderabad - is home to a very large Urdu speaking population - needs ATS and Intelligence operatives to be conversant in both languages as effectiveness can only be duly achieved by such people.

Now think hard ..... pretty hard.

Tamils will never learn Hindi , will Hindia get them out of the Hindian Union ?

relax bro why take it so seriously. By the way this fact of "Tamilians will never learn Hindi" is not entirely true, my own collegues are learning Hindi and Kannada.

Learning a language mainly depends on where you are. A Tamilian in Tamil Nadu dosent have to learn Hindi, But what abt a Tamilian working in Delhi ?

Idhella oru periya vishayam e kadeyadhu. I am a kannadiga but i understand and talk Tamil fluently my culture dosent feel threatened by me speaking Tamil, Telugu, Hindi etc.

You guys also learn this fact.

False news. Planted.

Telangana police ATS has trilingual proficiency. They speak Urdu, Hindi and English in addition to Telugu.

Fabricated news by the idiotic press.
indian press is always idotic when such news comes out. i can understand the reason.

LOL .... I have been known to laugh at my nation's media in this forum ... look around.

Hence my quip of 95 - 5 ...... the majority do not use their grey cells to discern the news as it stands!!!

The problem with democracy, in words of Lord Acton, First Baron Acton of Aldenham

"The one pervading evil of democracy is the tyranny of the majority"

Extrapolate it to the liberty .... it fits!!!!:enjoy:

Oppps @kvpak

Did I just tie you up in a bunch?

Amazing to Chinese desperation here..

I will agree that its these guys fault if these guys cannot even speak 2 lines of english or hindi.

Liklihood, its like 1 in a million govt officers at the level of ATS, if he cannot speak english. Even rickshawa walas here can manage basic english.
Makes me dubious about this article itself.

Tamils will and have always learned the language of the land, Bengaluru or Mumbai or Delhi or New York or Tokyo. It is the arrogant Hindi-ans who refuse to learn Tamil in Chennai, Kannada in Karnataka, Maratji in Mumbai.

Not in Hindi lands. I know police in Delhi railway station who cannot understand "this box contains books"

I know central industrial police at trichi airport who do not understand English.

Liklihood, its like 1 in a million govt officers at the level of ATS, if he cannot speak english.

Who said ATS offiucers did not know English. It is the UP police who would not understand English or reuse anything but Hindi.

@kvpak: I think you are taking it too harsh on those who speak Hindi and by the way Hindi is spoken by more than 50% of the people and followed by Bengali, Telugu, Tamil with each having around 8% of people speaking them. It is easier for the rest to learn Hindi when compared to the others learning Tamil..... We need to learn Hindi for our own good. (Naa sollurathu puriutha ... Tamil la sollu ..unmailaye nee purinju thaan pesuriya ?... )
