Yes TATA has a LOT to offer but let's not make out, as many here try to or the Indian media do, that Indian companies have EVERY defence solution India requires- TATA still can't supply a TEL for the BRAHMOS or many other high-end specialist vehicles. Don't buy into the demonisation of TATRA that has gone on in the Indian media over the past few years, they are fine machines and are simply unmatched in certain niches. But OF COURSE open the field up have open competitions where Indian and foreign HGV makers offer their products so that the Military gets the BEST- that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Nahii not much of a problem....just that they havent shown any progress in last few years.
They had showcased tata micro bullet proof vehicle 2 years back..which looked like a nano converted into MBPV

Even with the fact TATA is in a sector dominated by public sector companies like OFB for GOOOOOD knows how long, they have been making good moves in the past years.

Example

Integrating god knows how many armaments to their platforms. Even roping in blacklisted companies like Denel for their own use in the artillery sector. Which is in trials right now.

Aiming to be manufactures of APCs,

Putting efforts in future soldier programs.

But I wasnt joking....TATA needs to improve.I am not sure whether Tata vehicles are superior to Tatra ones(like Tata vehicles does have stability and maneuvering issues) nevertheless GOI should prefer Indigenous products over imports. I do support that.

I doubt TATA trucks are better, but if trials runs show they are sufficient, so be it. Eventually, Im sure they'll catch up to TATRA standards, if they're not already.

You using an example of a bullet proof small car, for anti terrorist role as a measure of their progress is wrong.

In a matter of two years after that expo, they have a self propelled howitzer in trials and aim to manufacture an APC which they'll show case next month.
