Tata Motors' Nano lights up the streets of Mumbai

Tata Motors said it would
ask Nano customers to bring
back their cars to add safety
devices free of cost to prevent
the vehicles from catching fire,
but insisted it was not a 'recall'.
The company, however, said that
the addition of safety devices, a
lesson learnt from some of its
brand new Nanos catching fire,
was optional. After these
incidents, Tatas had engaged
experts to get into the details for
the cause of the mishaps, and its
internal report had said that
there was no manufacturing
defect.
"We would be informing the
customers that these are the
additional protection we are
willing to provide.
"We are quite convinced that
Nano is safe, based on our
investigations. However, we feel
that probably there may be
some extraneous circumstances
where people may want
additional protection

Even BMW catch fire. Whats big deal.

But thats usually due to a overheating due to unsafe use of the car for which the operator is responsible. But if most of your cars are bursting into flames and its not even the owners fault then you've got a problem.

This is no break failure this is just random combustion of your product which is a big deal.

Perhaps the tone of the same Americans is even worse on Chinese products.
So what are you on to?
:azn:

Oh yea,

Funny how the same Americans, by millions, play with their Chinese made ipod, iphone, ipad, imac or PCs everyday, wearing clothes and shoes made in China, driving cars containing Chinese made batteries and oh not to forget order Chinese food.

Actually, if you notice the tone on almost all American tech blogs/forums concerning Indian products, it is quite negative most of the time. Perhaps you are on to something...

Actually, if you notice the tone on almost all American tech/blogs/ forums you'll detect that they still believe US made cars are best.

Actually concern is with the ...........Made in+R&d

ipods, imacs, ipads are just made in china no R&D

world is concerned with the products which are both made in and R&D in china and India.

no one would give a damn if Indian made ford catches fire.

That's actually not true. Popsci, Popular Mechanics etc. are quite objective in their analysis. They are focused on the US market, so they include the american cars in their reviews obviously, but they routinely give preference to European or Japanese cars.
