Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu): Angry that his wife delivered a second baby girl, a 25-year-old man allegedly kicked her to death on the city outskirts, police said on Thursday.

Police said the man, who was arrested today, kicked his wife in the stomach last night resulting in heavy bleeding.

She was taken to a private hospital where she died this morning, police said.

Pandyarajan was angry at his wife delivering the second baby girl recently and picked up a quarrel and kicked her, police said.

His mother was also arrested on the charge of abetting the murder, they said.

Sadly it is very much prevalent in south Asia, more specifically in rural areas or villages. The same goes for caste and religious disputes. The increase of education and literacy will only help so much, however it will take time for these people to adapt with "normal society". And accept the realities.
