I think Pakistan should strictly pursue its own interests and give middle finger to anyone who wants otherwise.
I say fully arm the taliban, give them ATGMs, MANPADs, small drones, night vision, tank ammo, RPGs etc. Make sure the taliban quickly takes over the whole country. We know these afghan govt scumbags dont want peace and act as spoilers so we better make it quick. A quick victory for taliban and then we can make them sit with other countries to devise an acceptable rule.
what if they turn against you? NDS were trained in Pakistan by some officials and later they turns against Pakistan which still Pakistan regret.
NDS was always more loyal to CIA and RAW. I see only stalemate. I don't think Taliban can delivery a knockout blow to the NA/ANA currently. USA and others will continue to arm and support the ANA enough that they will not be knocked out. That is the risk we have to take. But given the history and our support, i doubt taliban would turn on us. Also those weapons would be helpful to taliban against ANA and not Pakistan. In amy hiven situation, taliban are way better for Pakistan than any other group. The taliban in 90s were even ready to officially recognize durand line.
I dont knkw abt NDS being trained in Pakistan, mostly they were trained by US and india.

Kabul will remain a thorn in Pakistan side. They will cry at all the western forums against Pakistan. Pakistan needs to reduce its dependence on the west and consider carving out a buffer region in eastern Afghanistan similar to what the Turks did in Syria and Iraq.
I think taking Kabul is a redline for the USA. It will bring too many memories of the fall of Saigon. Best to build a defensive buffer region, and let the Afghans sort out their squabbles.Exactly and a stalemate is not good for Pakistan as it fosters uncertainty and terrorism. That is why i suggested Pakistan should ignore everyone and arm taliban well so they can quickly takeover kabul. The momentum and morale is on the taliban side and help from Pakistan would make it quicker. A quick fall of kabul would make sure US and NATO cant react and would have to settle for an inclusive govt of taliban.
because Pakistan is a conduit for illicit trade in drugs, weapons, minerals and precious stones. A stable, peaceful well governed Afghanistan is not in the best interest of some powerful deeply rooted elements on both sides of the AfPak border. Shutting your borders and hoping the problem goes away is not going to work either. It will take a massive violent effort to establish the rule of law and dominion over these lands.

Never said Pakistani forces should go into Afghanistan. Use local proxy on the ground supported by drone strikes from the air. Carve out a buffer, wipe out any RAW/NDS proxy's. Kabul regime is dysfunctional they will fall on their own. The newly mobilized civil militias are one disagreement from turning on each other. We cant protect the border which is more than 2700 kms so how will we protect the buffer zone? There is no red lines when u withdraw from a conflict. They will not go back to a conflict they just withdrew from and spend billions more. At most they will do few airstrikes here and there but eventually accept the new status quo. Especially if taliban agrees to include other groups in governance and gives a good political outlook.
I guess your Afghanistan is where rivers of honey flow LOL

In the past few decades, our men(uniform/civilians) have been fighting along with the Mujaheedins and Taliban. I won't be surprised if we are not doing the same now. We might be providing the Taliban Intelligence, logistics, Training, Ammunition and Manpower. Why isn't Pak Fauj also giving the haramis stationed on the border some action?
