Perhaps the TTP is being genuine and have reformed their ways. Who knows , perhaps they even think of themselves as a government in waiting in Pakistan and want to impress the USA and India by making such statement to enable themselves a greater chance of being accepted as a de facto government of Pakistan by the USA and India ? Their statement needs to be examined more closely.

TTP is terrorist org. simple as that.

Some latest achievements of taliban just before accord

PARACHINAR, Jan 4: Taliban militants attacked a convoy carrying food items, medicines and other goods to Parachinar in Kurram Agency on Tuesday and torched seven vehicles.

Informed sources said that the convoy, escorted by paramilitary forces, was attacked at Denari near Sadda town and militants looted food items, medicines and other goods.

Security forces started providing protection to convoys carrying passengers and food items to and from Parachinar after persistent attacks by Taliban.

The convoy was attacked at a time when elders of various tribes were planning to hold jirgas in Parachinar and Sadda. The decision to hold the jirgas was taken at a number of meetings of tribal elders held in Islamabad last month.

TTP is terrorist org. simple as that.

Sad part is that some organisations around the globe which were regarded as "terrorist organisations" eventually became government of their countries. Now in a country like Pakistan where the TTP is battling the nation's army, surely the TTP must have some backing from certain parts of the population. I strongly suspect that the TTP is being financed by at least one or more of Pakistan's neighbours. The USA doesnt really give a hoot about the TTP except to use them as drone practice when they lend support to the Afghan Taliban. So in effect if the TTP does take over Pakistan and its government after for example, reassuring India and Afghanistan that they will be neighbors to a peaceful Pakistan under a TTP government, and the TTP starts implementing its own brand of Sharia law in Pakistan, who will take on the TTP militarily if the Pakistani army yields to them? Not the USA. Not China. Not Afghanistan. Definately not India. Not Iran or any other middle eastern country. Hence my earlier suggestion that the statement by the TTP spokesman needs to be examined more closely

as far as TTP statement is concerned WE Pakistanis dont consider it worth examining because there is NO room for TTP terrorists in our book.
