ISI has out lived its worthiness for Pakistani state as a whole.....Its way too military centric and dominated by them....this severely limits its effectiveness beyond Pakistan....They simply lack the ideas and out of the box and non traditional thinking......These morons have no real clear idea of what they r doing most of the time. But have mere superficial excuses to tell as u were telling me in first page. These military people live an isolated lives they lack street smartness, they aint clever enough to operate in civilian world that too dominantly. Take the example of this Durrani and AS Dulat saga

whatever you want requires lot of resources which pakistan is unable to afford right now . economically pakistan is not very well off .

I have dispute with you only on one issue and I agree with the rest of what you have to say but that very issue is placing the ISI under civil services of Pakistan. I have good reasons for that about the rest I totally agree with you that we need a more offensive approach.

I am not a govt officer neither in Army or any thing. I have a small political back ground but that has nothing to do with my school of thoughts.

o kaka g im not suggesting that either! i have shared potential ideas abt such an intel agency if ever to be made in that thread in great detail. I have addressed this exact issue there too.

My idea of the new intel agency is that it must be only wafadar of mumlikat e Pakistan not of a mere institution like ISI what to speak of politicians. It must not exist either officially or unofficially........it must not even have a name to begin with! it must only exist in the imagination of journalists or def analysts who would nly feel an unseen ghost presence where ever they go.

Nobody should be its head either, rather a committee type body mixture of civ/mil intel officers....When i say civilians i mean civilian intel officers or people who r street smart also rather then being loyal and intelligent like in ISI. It must work as a secret society! U cant control what u dont know on the first place. Nobody will know abt it on the first place, not even COAS, Air Chief or Naval Chief... what to speak of mere politicians...so here goes yr civil services concern
