This leak is in relation to the murder of 'Nasiruddin Haqqani'.

Pakistan already had lot of US pressure to hand over Haqqani family, usually termed as Haqqani network.
While Pakistan has repeatedly stated that no evidence of Haqqani family's involvement in any act of terror was ever given to Pakistan.
Haqqani's were a political (Peoples Democratic Party of Afghanistan) threat to puppet regime, post foreign occupation.
Haqqani family were the true Afghanis, not the gypsies of surrounding area currently ruling Afghanistan.
Since US media used to term Haqqani's as ISI agent, therefore, US is reluctant to own the target killing directly, hence this leak in the name of a pro Iranian war lord.
