Afghanistan: Taliban uses helicopters to get to the borders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan
12.10.2009 16:41 msk

Ferghana.Ru
On October 12, giving a speech before the journalists in Kabul, Hamid Karzai, the President of Afghanistan, announced that he has confirmation that Taliban militants use unidentified helicopters to get to the north of the country, Afghanistan.Ru reports with the reference to Afghan national television.

The announcement of the president became sensational news for the residents of the country: it has been long ago suspected that unknown military helicopters transport militants in the night time.

According to Mr. Karzai, the first information about transportation of guerillas was received by special services about five months ago. He also assumed that Taliban could use the same method to get to north-west of the country.

The President informed that law enforcement bodies already started the investigation process. "I hope in the near future we will find out who these helicopters belong to", the Afghan President noted.

Giving a speech in the parliament, General Abdul Rahim Vardak, the Afghan Defense Minister, stated that about 4 thousand hired soldiers arrived in Afghanistan to support Taliban.

Ferghana.Ru reported earlier that Mohammad Zahir Azimi, the official representative of Afghan defense ministry, noted that the militants were going to destabilize the situation in the northern and western provinces of the country. The majority of them are originally from Central Asian states. The General mentioned that after the launch of big-scale operations of Afghan army and NATO units in the south and the east, the militants started looking for alternative places. At the same time, General Azimi assumed that one of the goals of Taliban is to prevent the transportation of NATO trucks through "northern transit corridor".

The active actions of militants in the north of Afghanistan became bad news for such neighbors as Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Specifically, the experts are concerned that operations of NATO and Afghan army in the northern province of Kunduz may provoke Taliban to cross Afghan-Tajik border.

appearantally germans were being suspected by usa 'nd even britain is said to possibly meddle with them as well. but usbeks 've harmed afghanistan 'nd especially pathans of afghanistan alot 'nd this is karma for all the bad they 've done to my fellow pathans 'nd other afghans. usbeks only invaded afghanistan in order to catch the best areas 'nd with afghan money 'nd foreign money coming in build it up 'nd then demand a free state, after which they can merge with usbekistan. their history in afghanistan is no longer than 100 yrs 'nd instead of being thankful to afghans for accepting usbeks in afghanistan, despite them killing many afghans, they instead turned into american dogs 'nd trouble pathans wherever 'nd whenever they can! even my afghan mates 're from all races, tajiks, pathans, 'nd even hazaras 'nd even they say only ppl they dont trust 're usbeks 'nd nor they shud! they shud 've been kicked out right after being defeated by the pathans. they utterly hate pathans in both afghanistan 'nd pakistan 'nd even if usbeks in afghanistan get better, those in usbekistan esp 're known for their cruelty 'nd its good taliban 're in their areas now so they can fcuk off from afghanistan 'nd pakistan!

does any one think ..Iran maybe involved here? To beat America in Afganistan.. they obviously have a threat if America settles in Af- Pak

The border of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan?

That would appear to be a stretch (in terms of distance) for any helis operating out of either Iran or Pakistan, and would have to cover a significant amount of Afghan territory, under the noses of ISAF, to get there and back.

See map:

Pakistan to Tajikistan border is possible, but why take that chance when the terrain is mountainous and rugged and allows for militants to travel by land ...

Another tactic to cover the incompetent Afghan govt misdeeds & shift the blame of their incompetence in controlling the expansion of taliban on someone else.

huh for a minute just assume what Karzai says is true then just look at the geo-graphy of Afghanistan and concentration of anti-NATO, anti-US fighters aka Taliban, then we see they are in south and other areas not in Northern Afghanistan so it means these helicopters must be lifting the Taliban freedom fighters from areas where they have control. And its all the way to Norther Afghanistan so how come no one identify these helis ?

And how come no one knows from where these helis take off ?

This is the biggest joke.

And oh btw according to those fighting in Afghanistan against the occupying US and NATO, they say that ISAF aircrafys just for the sake of completing sorties, fly here and there all day but dont dare to fire at Taliban freedom fighters

Yeah and again that Karzai would blame that it is Pakistan that is providing Taliban with these helis. Some day he would comment that Taliban are flying jets over Afghanistan and bombing bases of Allied and Afghanistan forces. These jets are Pakistani phased out F-6s.

Bullshit. Karzai watch out maybe they have A.B. on one of such heli.

KIT Out

I did not hear any sensible statement from Karzi since his presidentship and this is one of those………..

I know Karzai is chootia but never thought he is that stupid....what a peice of $hit this man is.

wasn't there an air indian base setup in uzbek or tajik territory?

:azn: cute.

Hmmm well it is also ppossible that they are droping Indian soldiers there in the North Afghanistan after all India and Northern Alliance are in deep love with each other

Actually, this clearly explains that why indians have their airbase in the north.
There alliance with N.A. is a known fact and they don't want US to leave as many are getting rich with multibillion 'war inc.'

I feel money is not the big deal. Indians feel insecure as soon as US is out of Afghanistan it will be an end to cowardly pusycat type of Indian designs against Pakistan using Afghanistan's soil.

Indians are trying their level best to support every US move against Pakistan be through media or official statements.

Well, I also think indians are helping NA. But are you folks sure, I mean you only got the embassies as proof. If India is infiltrating Afghan policies, it needs to be nuked
