60 years later Pakistan is still stuck in the same place. Those who speak out against power hungry dollar loving Generals are labeled traitors
Not just traitors but my posts have been deleted for constructive criticism and I have been called an "Indiot" by a certain "patriotic Pakistani" running Pakistani flags with no check whatsoever by the mods before responding to a "reported post" and deleting it.
Just remember. The overseas well established Pakistanis do not need or require any benefits from the motherland but still come back on these forums just for our love for our roots and our desire to give our heart and soul for our motherland.
I see a lot of posters just disappear and although I am a passive member, mostly reading and not contributing much but getting tired of the mentality of the "educated" illiterates here.
We have really turned into a Banana republic because of our own shortcomings unfortunately.

If the Politicians don't clean up their act I am afraid Pakistan is heading towards Martial Law and military governance. Pakistan keeps going around in circles from one corrupt governance to another squeezing every drop from the skinny Pakistani monetary cow.

Unfortunately, Generals/establishment can’t let go of this skinny cow that is called Pakistan.

If the establishment were to let go of their powers,

- Foreign Policy - the state would likely choose the path of becoming less of a security state and that would indirectly impact the defense budget. In addition the power center will shift to the parliament, therefore it’s a big NO.

- Accountability - Sooner or later the accountability drive would cross over to establishment and their illicit dealings (kickbacks, land dealings, commissions etc).

- Rigging elections - although they cannot decide elections outcome but manage them so that no party overly becomes a majority. Suits establishment’s purpose to have a weak government so that they can do it’s bidding. And every 3-4 years they just get tired of their failed experiments and look for something new or are forced into it (lettergate etc)

Hence, power becomes an addiction. In the end you can’t let it go fearing retribution if you forego it.

And what about the miliatry? What if their act needs cleaning up? Are the men in uniform angels and can't do no wrong?
