Justice Markandey Katju has sparked off a controversy by making sarcastic remarks against Bihar. In a Facebook post addressing Pakistan to end the country’s dispute with India over Kashmir, Katju suggested Pakistan can get Kashmir if they agree to take Bihar also as a part of a “package”.

“Pakistanis, let us end our dispute once and for all. We offer you Kashmir, but on the condition you also take Bihar. It is a package deal. You have to take the whole package or none at all. Either you take both Kashmir and Bihar, or nothing. We will not give you Kashmir alone. Deal?”.



The former Supreme Court judge who is not new to controversies because of his statements on social media even said that the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had offered the same “deal” to then Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf during his visit to Agra. But Musharraf “stupidly rejected it”. “Atal Bihari Vajpayee had offered this deal to Musharraf at the Agra Summit, but he stupidly rejected it. Now the offer is coming again,” he said.

Katju’s remarks invited hundreds of comments by “offended” users. “The soldiers of Bihar laid down their lives in the recent #UriAttack.I heard people saying so,but its confirm that it’s not Amitabh Bachann who has nothing in his head,its not the Indians 90% of whom are fools,but its you who are one trying his best to remain in news.You should join AAP,” an FB user Rohit Singh Sikarwar said.

Another user Sanket Jamuar wrote, “ACTUALLY NOT ONLY BIHAR…TAKE MARKANDEY KATJU ALSO…your status just proved that degree can never show a person’s intellect..first of all know about urself…shit personality!….matlab kuch v bolna ha bas….ha na?”.

Katju even offered a suggestion to those who have been offended by his statement.

Recently, Katju was in news for saying Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan had nothing in his head. “Amitabh Bachchan is a man with nothing in his head, and since most mediapersons praise him, I doubt there is anything in their heads,” he had tweeted.
