The US only sent a destroyer, but it got incepted by three PLAN warships.

It was only a child play, but the US has bigger voice to propagate that they have humiliated China.

Yeah you mean like Japan ain't doing shit when we patrol their so called Senkaku? Where were you when that happened? Do you condemn Japan for being a coward for failure to defend their turf hm? LOL And this is not comparable to Senkaku, a legit legal island, high above tide, unlike the reefs we are talking here. We still consider their action provocative, showing no respect to our territorial right but not enough to push that red button because it not worth risk lives and million of dollar, and not to mention, total annihilation with nuclear exchange, over a minor issue.
