Taiwan welcomes Chinese premier's statement on missile removal

Personal question time!

What are you on the political scale, roughly?

That's a tough question :smokin:

However I heard from my history teacher that if you take one side and take it far enough you will end up on the other side.

So er, probably centre is best.

Politically, I'm with the KMT all the way. There is only "One China" and that's it. Ironically, Taiwan (e.g. 98% Han) is more Han that Mainland China (e.g. 92% Han). The exact timing of reunification and the haggling over terms will be eventually resolved in a few decades. Hong Kong did not return to China in a day. These things take time.

Well said.

Taiwan actually has a higher percentage of Han Chinese (98%) than the Chinese mainland (92%), or even Hong Kong (95%).

Although as baconlover said, it's probably more neutral to say "Chinese" rather than "Han Chinese".

You're also right when you say that these things take time. Chinese culture places a lot of emphasis on "waiting patiently".
