Taiwan ranks No. 13 in the world's strongest militaries: Credit Suisse

Umm.... And this is coming from you? Seriously??

Do you see how China tried covering up multiple accidents? Also, Japan's media receives no orders from the government, though there may be some collusion.

China has state owned, regulated and censored media, as well social media, which gives government and CCP a free reign in blocking information if it chooses to do so.

This kind of parochial thinking is so regressive, and would be against your country's best interests.

As I say, and I repeat, Japan has the advantage of:
  1. A culture of precision and quality, (something well recognized by Chinese themselves who flock to buy western or Japanese brands and products for their quality)
  2. Access to the US, European markets and expertise.
  3. Benefit of time. Japan has been a technology innovator for far too long, and even leads in some fundamental things used in defense technology like carbon fibres etc.

They are also well known for having a F-16 replica at double the cost and an extremely over-budget T90 tank with German parts that cost more than the German tanks.

In addition they also have the proven to lie like "Japanese trains have never had accidents" when one resulting in 100+ deaths occured right in 2005 and then the entire Fukushima coverup.

If you want to go by historical records: China's fission to fusion transition in nuclear weapons was 32 months, the shortest of any country out there and in absolute terms, got thermonuclear warheads before France. In addition, the first Chinese fusion weapon was air-dropped while Ivy Mike in the US was an entire building, so what do you have to say about that?

The second movers always have an advantage.

And no doubt Japanese have been misrepresenting truth. Not the word that I use. "Misrepresentation" rather than an outright lie, because that accident was a clear case of human error, and if you delve deeper than Japanese say that the system has never suffered a technical problem.

It is rather a failure of Chinese diplomacy that they have not been able to tell people about Japanese Shinkansen mishaps, and able to create a better image for themselves abroad.

Lastly, never be arrogant or parochial. It was China's undoing the last time around, it could very well be this time.

it's the exact opposite. There's an extreme first mover advantage in almost all major markets. This is well documented.

There is no arrogance in knowing facts and your own ability. It is extreme arrogance to dismiss your own achievements and even more extreme when you dismiss the accomplishments of others who are factually more accomplished than you are. Whether China or Japan is more accomplished is up for debate under different metrics, but whether China or India is more accomplished is not up for debate under any metric.

As for India and China thing, I largely agree. China is indeed ahead in almost all metrics of any significant value that I can think of, except for the demographics edge.

A successful country can only be the one which is extremely self-critical, and self-correcting. One should always be more worried about one's weaknesses, than gloat over strengths. Of course one must be cognizant of both. But it is the attitude that matters as well.

Most of sites like this and global fire power are for internet child. I bet if any military institution uses those numbers on site like this to measure military power of a country.

wow! thailand and poland are more powerfull than germany and canada:undecided:
Thai military suck big time, and for Germany don't confuse with their MIC.
They are cannibalizing their brand new EF Typhoon for spare part & using broom sticks on their APCs.
When you are ruling whole Europe then what need of military when two of the subordinates UK & France are enough powerful.
Poland is one of the largest defence spender in EU & have a decent military.

Global Firepower Military Ranks - 2015
well, I just want to ask who make this list? Pakistan couldn't rank behind Taiwan for they have nuke war head.

.
Great controversies on the rankings after the top 3, but all reported rankings all listed top 3 without much debate. US, Russia and China.

Big countries tend to rank better than some ones, cause big countries have interior where they can tactically pull back and organize second attack, small countries don't have that advantage, once defeated in one battle, it's all over.

. . .
This list is a joke. How south Korea is strong than UK?? And how Japan is strong than India except naval??
Other than Nukes yes South Korea is far more stronger they have pretty much equal quality fighter jets but South Korea has more. Also South Korea has bigger Navy and growing as for Army it has same quality with 5 times bigger Army.

.
All I know is the P5 can end any country hope of winning a war.
