Yes. Even western history books said the same. My history teacher said the same when I went to University. The KMT was too busy fighting the communists instead of the invading japanese.

A KMT with China was busy to lick the Japanese.

So it is understandable that a KMT with Taiwan will spontaneously kowtow in front of Philippines.

PS, over 10 million pro-CPC Chinese peasants in Jiangxi were massacred by the KMT, even the children weren't spared. Their cruel behavior toward the Chinese peasants was pretty much the same like the Japanese fascists.
