The first tender, AH-1Z favored/later cancelled, was intended to purchase 145 helicopters bro.
Yes bro you're right. That actually refreshed my memory as well.

But hey, who knows, maybe we'll eventually get to that number. Especially with ATAK-2s. :)

Way back when ATAK was still a dream (late 90's, early 2000's), they were mentioning a requirement of 90 choppers. A total of 87 gunships comes pretty close to that initial vision. Coincidence? :D

There was a politican that said that we're gonna make our own tanks and planes. Unfortunately other big party's didnt take this serious and only laughed at it. This only shows that Turkey lost many of its years by wrong political decisions.

Glad to see that this mentaly changed and that Turkey proceeded on development.

yeah at least some good steps to intependend economy.. still there are some eaqual idiotic decisions.. we have to change mantality of ppl to risk more and the government to accept more and help those who risk and build things..

what happened to the guy who build some nano pullet prooof stuff I didnt hear anything about him again.. or the bor car project wich was discarded.. or the delaying of tai anka... hope it will all be good

Yeah, agreed. One of the things that makes big accomplishments "big" is how they change people's mentality. We now believe that we can achieve anything we set our mind to.
