T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

our choppers always fly low because of the manpads.

Doesn't mak any sense. If any manpad didn't hit our choppers, its because we are lucky. Flying at low altitude is only safe when there is no manpad threat.

Our ATAK choppers can fly above manpad range, why they don't fly then? Idk. Maybe lack of training, maybe bad commander staff, maybe chopper wants to use it's 20mm gun which cannot be effectively used at high altitudes.

Solely because of the gun,
+
Flying at high altitude has more fuel usage

are you kiidng? you need time to lock to target and around mountains you wont get that time and pkk dont have large amount of manpads. Make some resourch about it. also how they gonna fly above range of manpads and attack the little rats? Yeah you are right lack of training pls train yourself and stop bs.

That is why i said "we are lucky"

Well, Attack choppers do have missiles, you know that right?

are you kiidng?
Nope, educate yourself.

Flying low extremely low causes back ground clutter on most manpads, a manpad is small it doesn't have the processing power and size of SAM to detect and engage target and filter out ground effects

American Stinger worked well in Afghanistan because cold high altitude allowed heat signature of Hind to stick out like a swore thumb

American Apaches on Desert Storm flew very low for this reason while also avioiding high altitude SAM

Formation flying is another way to minimise manpad

.
T129's engine powerfull enough to fly at high altitudes. the problem is there no guided missiles to hit targets from that altitude like apache. maybe that's why they don't use t129 in al-bab operations

you dont have any idea about war.
And it's you who say that :D

rebels hit an gazelle with tow
Good for them. Next time if SAA smart, they fly their choppers at higher altitudes to protect them.

Turkish choppers don't fly extremely low altitudes, they fly perfect altitude for MANPADs, begging for a hit. We are very very lucky.

Choppers on low altitudes are harder to hit. A object that is closer to ground will visually move faster than its high in the air while the speeds are the same.

Could anyone please, send me the camouflage pattern that the Turkish helicopter uses??

Kotil : "We will sell T-129 to Pakistan in next months"

TAI Genel Müdürü Temel Kotil İstanbul Düşünce Vakfı’nın toplantısında T129 ATAK Helikopteri ve Hürkuş’taki son gelişmeler hakkında bilgiler verdi.

TAI Genel Müdürü Temel Kotil, İstanbul Düşünce Vakfı tarafından düzenlenen toplantıda “ATAK helikopterimizi kontrollü olarak satabiliyoruz, önümüzdeki aylarda Pakistan’a satacağız” dedi.

Pakistan Kara Havacılık Komutanlığı’nın isteği doğrultusunda T129 ATAK Taarruz ve Taktik Keşif Helikopteri 21-31 Mayıs 2016 tarihleri arasında Pakistan’ın zorlayıcı iklim ve coğrafi koşullarında, Pano Aqil’de 50 derecede yüksek sıcaklık testlerini, Himalayalar’ın başlangıcı Hindikuş Dağları’nda ise 14.000 feet’te yüksek irtifa testlerini gerçekleştirmişti.

Öte yandan Kotil, Milli Savunma Bakanı Fikri Işık’ın Türk Havacılık ve Uzay Sanayii tesislerini ziyareti sırasında gündeme getirdiği ‘İnsansız Hürkuş’ konusunda ise büyük bir ihtimalle insansız modelinin yapılmayacağını söyledi.

I red somewhere a few days ago, dont have the source anymore, that 50% of ATAK is domestic. And the Utility chopper is supposed to be 100% domestic.
