Swine flu death toll crosses 500 in India

NEW DELHI: More than 500 people have died from swine flu in India since the first fatality was reported in August, the health ministry said Monday.

The western state of Maharashtra has seen the largest number, with 207 deaths from the influenza A (H1N1) virus, the ministry said in a statement.

Besides the 502 deaths, more than 14,000 people have tested positive for swine flu across India since it was first detected here in May, it added.

More than 5,700 people have died worldwide since the virus was first discovered in April, with most of the deaths in the Americas region, according to the World Health Organization.

“Various Ayurvedic medicines, particularly those prepared from cow products, have for centuries proved potent to build resistance against infectious diseases like flu. We would advise people to take the same along with modern medicines prescribed by experts” Aurangabadkar said.

She said cow urine concentrate, called ‘ Ark ’, could be extremely useful in protecting people against the virus and “probably” also in providing relief to those who have already caught the infection

At a time when the media was required to spread awareness about swine-flu, the gag order came & the matter was brushed under the carpet, as a result a lot of people died.

Swine flu got more coverage than it demanded. Media instead of spreading awareness, were spreading panic among the masses. Just tell you one thing, do you think 500 is a big number? There are more victims to common flu and TB and pneumonia.

There were no vaccines available last year but the media made it look as if there are no medicines for the same.
I think we should just consider it like just another influenza and move on as we now have the vaccine too.

Every year according to our statistics and record keeping 30,000 of our fellow citizens die due to the effects of the influenza virus. This means .0075 of a percent of our population dies from complications of this virus.

Here I see a thread flaming Indians on 500 deaths. If 1.2 billion people have have even 500 deaths it would mean .00004 percent deaths from this virus. By extrapolating it would mean India's health care over 150 times better than us. Does anyone believe this?

We keep very good records for our deaths, whatever the cause. All the people who say murders, rapes, suicides are worse in the western world, needs to pay heed to this article. I live by a saying "don't mushroom me". If you don't know, they grow mushrooms by keeping it in the dark and feeding it with bullshit.

I can go down the list of leaders who ordered Muslims to be massacred in the last 50 years and Narendra Modi will not be in the top ten. The only difference is that he is not a muslim. The strangest part is that he did not even order the killing. He did not do much as you wanted to prevent it, but how different is he from the GOP that even today provides a refuge for the Khalistani leaders.
Look up Hafez al-Assad and the Hama massacre, then you will get a little understanding what muslims do to their fellow man. This is just one drop in the bucket....
