because none of them is stupid enough to go for an all out nuclear war. they know it could be the end of the world if russia and US go to war against each other. that's why they are more interested in trade wars and proxy wars. lavrov himself said in recent past that as long as putin and trump are there the chances of war are less.

exactly! But those trade, cyber, proxy wars are increasingly deadly and costly,so that doesnt make them less dangerous to European countries, especially those that have small populations and are close to Russia. You quoting Lavrov is exactly what you should not be doing. you really think what Lavrov says tells the full picture? dont be naive. foreign ministers are probably speaking 10% of the truth and reality of their country's intentions.

Sweden doesn't really have a border with Russia , if it was Finland perhaps made some sense or if Norway , Sweden and Finland all mobilised but why only Sweden ?

During negotiation regarding economic zones, the Russians were very aggressive.
They only backed off, when our prime minister asked if they seriously belived his summerhouse were on Russian territory.
If Russia want to invade the Baltics, the Swedish Islands of Gotland is key to blocking NATO.

While we still believe that such actions are far away, our conclusion is that Putin is not to be trusted.
