Why would Sweden go for Chinese products when Ericsson has home grown solutions. Would china buy Ericson products while they got Huawei and ZTE? Why is there incessant whining every time someone doesn't opt for Huawei and ZTE? This childish and spoiled brat attitude should end. China should simply ban Swedish solutions from its own race which should be the end of it.

Telecom market in Sweden is a little, Huawei ZTE does not have much market there,

Highest market share is all Chinese companies at device and board/component level, 25% share at chip level but have competitors in every category.

Sweden doesn't even have a semiconductor foundry so Ericcson is done from chip level to board level to device level if they get banned from business in China.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Sweden should reverse its ban on Chinese telecommunications companies Huawei [HWT.UL] and ZTE 0763.HK000063.SZ from a planned 5G spectrum auction to avoid a "negative impact" on its own companies, said China's foreign ministry.

The Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) on Tuesday banned the use of products from Huawei and ZTE by companies taking part in the auction scheduled for next month.

“Sweden should uphold an objective and fair attitude, and correct its wrong decision, to avoid bringing a negative impact to China-Sweden economic and trade cooperation and the operations of Swedish enterprises in China,” said Zhao.

PTS said it had followed advice from the country’s armed forces and security service, which described China as “one of the biggest threats against Sweden”.

Sweden, with a population of about 10 million, is a very small market. Huawei is not affected much by the ban. If Sweden silently banned Huawei and avoided making derogatory statements, China would not care what it did.
