Survey shows majority of Pakistanis are satisfied with PM’s performance
4 HOURS AGO BY INP
  • 68 per cent of responders say there is duplicity in Imran Khan and opposition’s demands over Panama Papers; 62 per cent don’t buy Khan’s stance that he had the right to form offshore company as he was not a British citizen

  • 78 per cent say accusations of loan write-offs against Jahangir Tareen are ‘very true’ or truth adjacent;84 per cent say democracy is better than dictatorship

A survey conducted by Gallop Pakistan shows that a majority of the countrymen are satisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The survey report which appeared in the media on Monday said that about 68 per cent of people asked to respond to questions regarding investigation into Panama Papers, saw duplicity in the opposition’s demands.
They saw duplicity in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief’s demands for the prime minister’s resignation.

A total of 54 per cent of the people surveyed also expressed their satisfaction over the performance of the prime minister. The survey was carried out among a sample of 1,707 men and women in the rural and urban areas of all the four provinces of the country, during May 30 to June 6 this year.

The error margin is estimated to be approximately 2-3 per cent at 95 per cent confidence level.

Responding to a query related to the opposition’s demand over the Panama Leaks investigation to begin with the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, 50 per cent of the respondents rejected the idea and said that the investigation should be held simultaneously for all the people mentioned in the Panama Papers.

“Responding to this, 68 per cent of the people agreed that it was dishonest of Imran Khan to ask for PM Nawaz Sharif’s resignation, while 29 percent believed that this was not the case and his demand was legitimate. As many as 3 per cent said they knew nothing about the issue,” the report said.

Further, people were asked to suggest whether Imran Khan’s stance was justified, in which he claimed that he had the right to form offshore companies as he was not a British citizen. Responding to this, 62 per cent people said that Imran Khan’s stance was not justified while 36 per cent said it was justified.

In the survey, the people were also asked to evaluate Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s performance and how much they were satisfied with it. Responding to this, 54 per cent said they were quite satisfied with the prime ministers’ performance.

In the survey, the people were also asked which of the two forms of government is better – democracy or dictatorship. An overwhelming majority, 84 per cent, said that democracy is a better than dictatorship.

The Gallup Pakistan survey also asked people, whether they believed that PTI leader Jehangir Tareen had his loans waived off from various banks as claimed by the PML-N. Replying to this, 38 per cent people said they thought the claim was ‘very true’, while 40 percent believed it was ‘true to some extent’.

It was further asked that if the allegation against Jehangir Tareen was true and if they thought there should be an investigation regarding this matter. Responding to this, 92 per cent of the people participating in the survey supported the idea and said there should be an investigation into the matter.

People will Like oh Look PML N is at top People are Satisfied it a Paid Survey

every survey is actually paid by some one.....there can not be a free of cost survey...
most of these organizations who run survey exist to make money....

the real question in western world would be "who financed the survey?"
just to highlight how to approach these news....

you might be right... but if source of survey financing is some neutral organisation, say an neutral news organization for example, that would make this survey a huge cause of concern for some people, who are ruining their own repute by indulging in destructive politics and not realising this is not why people actually like them.....

I think they are satisfied yes. People of Pakistan have this habit of living a life of slaves in a free country. Eating roads and dog meat, having a debt swinging over their head, crying and whining over an incident for 2 days before returning to a normal life. Why wouldn't they be satisfied. Good for them.

Since the survey negates pti stance hence its a fake and fabricated survey.
Simple

i even dont believe on this democracy where out of 20 karor people PMLn took 1.4 karor votes which mean out of 20 people 1.4 people given them the mandate and rest of 18.6 people are paying the price free of cost

Thats why i keep saying that this system is faulty and needs to be changed. In Australia its mandatory to vote or you get fined for state and council elections and if you don't vote in National elections you lose your Drivers Licence which is also you ID card.

Seriously!

People still take Dr Ijaz Shafi Gilani seriously, In a nutshell Dr Gilani is a life long affiliate of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. He has also served as an employee and loyalist to Nawaz Sharif in his IJI/ISI engineered government during 1991-1993.

He has been instrumental in releasing various surveys in 2012/2013 to counter educated class specially when another research foundation (can't recall the name) was publishing the results in favor of PTI.

Long story short - everything is muddy in Pakistan - be it potable water - even the word "transparent" is not transparent over here in Pakistan!

Here is an excerpt from Dr Gilani’s official profile at Pakistan Herald:

Educational Background
Dr. Political Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 1977

Professional Experience
2003 – Present: Honorary Senior Fellow, the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics Islamabad and Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, IIU Islamabad
1980 – Present: Chairman, Gallup Pakistan
1991 – 1993: Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Prime Minister”s Committee for Research and Analysis

Guess who was this man serving in 1991-1993? (Ameer-ul-momineen Nawaz Sharif, courtesy IJI, ISI and Osama bin Laden)

Guess who was this man serving from 2003 to 2007: (General Pervez Musharraf)

This man spends most of his time in crafting and engineering right wing oriented survey polls and also attending and lecturing in Jamaat-e-Islami and IJT’s training workshops in Mansoora, Lahore."

Here is another perspective on Dr Ijaz Gilani and his Gallup Pakistan by Farhan Malick:

Quote" Not many Pakistanis know that Gallup Pakistan has nothing to do with the US-based Gallup, Inc. that frequently makes international headlines with its presidential approval ratings and US economic data. Apparently, even an organization of the size and repute of Al Jazeera is unaware of this fact. Instead, Gallup Pakistan is associated with the UK-based Gallup International Association, which works primarily through its website and is notorious in the market research industry for handing out affiliations all over the world for as low as a few hundred dollars." unquote

Not many Pakistanis know that Gallup Pakistan has nothing to do with the US-based Gallup, Inc. that frequently makes international headlines with its presidential approval ratings and US economic data. Apparently, even an organization of the size and repute of Al Jazeera is unaware of this fact. Instead, Gallup Pakistan is associated with the UK-based Gallup International Association, which works primarily through its website and is notorious in the market research industry for handing out affiliations all over the world for as low as a few hundred dollars.

“Over the years, most of the work done by Gallup Pakistan has been for government departments and non-governmental organizations based both here and abroad. Incidentally, both of [these organizations] do not set very high standards of accountability,” said one industry source. This coupled with Gallup Pakistan’s inability to gain the private sector’s trust raises a few questions about the organization’s credibility.

It was in 2006 that Gallup Pakistan was denied registration of the “Gallup” trademark in Pakistan after the trademark registrar received objections from Gallup, Inc. Less than a year ago a US court ruled in favor of the Gallup, Inc. after the company complained of trademark infringement when Gallup Pakistan’s Dr. Gilani took part in a US radio show and used the name Gallup Pakistan to describe the company.
“There has always been a big question mark over the formulation of the questions being asked in these surveys, and historically these survey companies have also been guilty of misreporting their sampling errors and margins of error,” says Dr. Farrukh Saleem of the Centre of Research and Security Studies, an Islamabad think tank. “Just a few months back a local TV channel ran a public survey asking people [if] they want Islam in Pakistan. Now for me that is an extremely inappropriate question, of course 98% of the respondents will say yes. But if we were to ask if they want the Deobandi, Barelvi or some other version of Islam, that would have got us much more interesting results.”

In the light of the above, it is safe to conclude that any opinion polls conduced and their results processed by Gallup Pakistan will consistently reflect pro-Nawaz Sharif and pro-right wing tendencies, and are therefore not worth the piece of paper they are usually printed on."

.
If the people were satisfied than our PM wouldn't be in London and doing kitchen meeting with the members

.
The same guy (Gilani) was considered a spin doctor who served Musharaf and then in 2009 started praising Zardari and issued his survey saying 74% Pakistanis are content with their lives tacitly implying that 74% endorse PPP.

Oh please!

Go to grassroot level and ask how people are selling their organs, kids, murdering their young girls (gender ratio is tilting in favor of boys) because they fear for their safe future as they can't marry them off. Please Dr Gilani stop playing dirty games for few rupees!
