What happened to the live firing tests of spada 2000 that were suppose to happen in the first half of 2010? Heard no news about it. Have they been conducted or are we facing any delays?

but pakistan need more than spada 2000 sam system which has high altitude ranges and pakistan must buy more batteries of spada 12 wont be enough because we have to defend from northern boarders too

its a point defence system. It isnt intended to provide coverage for unusually large area

but it is indeed a boost to our air defence nevertheless, and we'll always have option to buy more in the future, as we have a very good working relationship with MBDA and the Italians in general

we had been hearing about SPADA and FT2000 since 2003. nothing has happened as yet.
not the next rumor was that Pakistan may be testin SPADA by end of this year.
i actually no more beleive in these...

SAMs are badly required by our forces. currently Pakistan posses nothin like a high altitiude long~medium range surface to air missile.

the chines versions of S-300/400 are good options but God knows why this department of air defence is always neglected.

Do we know where some of the sam sites & AA battries are in PAK?

such sites may not be much talked about in public but one thing is for sure that we do not have any state of the art SAM system with us.
nothing is department means nothing that we can really relay on to defence our air spaces.

as stated by Abu Zulfiqar this is a point defence system. we can install it on key strategic sites to protect them from incomming enemy attacks. this do not provide an air defence Dome. but as a matter of fact we may not accquire such an umberalla. staying with our boots, Pakistan must go for high altitude batteries and istall them on key points. couple these with SPADA and all will go fine for us.

we must not dream about Patriots but must stay practical and try to present best solution that is with in our grasp!!

well not enough air defence relying on just one type of weapon alot one type of AA gun one type of sam system Crotale one type of manpad system RBS 70 not enough atleast three different types of sams and 5 different types of AA guns and 3 types of manpad system we are soo weak in air defence new Spada replace crotale but still it will be one system defence
