Supreme Court Decision on Presidential Reference

.
They are not cherry picking here. Article 69 protects the legislature from any irregularity of procedure, and not from violations of the constitution itself, which is what was attempted, and correctly stopped.
So why didn't SC stop votes of PTI Lotas in Punjab assembly from being counted during CM election? Wasn't it against the constitution then? Patwarism?

"Regulating Procedure" +++ "Conduct of Business" *****

Which reiterates what I said - cherry picking .....

I respect your right to hold your opinion, and leave it at that.

The decision that has come now could have consequences by due process, very likely.

Lol. The SC decision came after PTI Lotas votes were already counted in CM Punjab elections. Patwarism? SC should have stepped in and stopped that on time but it didn't.

Feeling is mutual -- it is always fun having these discussions with you 🤝

Thank you for the reciprocity. I can only wish those in management who continue to delete my posts without any valid reason could be requested to do the same. :D

It is called due process. And let us observe what happens next.

This is what a kangaroo court looks like in a banana republic. For these judges, the constitution?- let it be damned. They intervene when they want to, how they want to, and engineer political outcomes as needed. Delay rulings for months and suddenly open courts on Sunday midnight when they want to. Now the public pressure is such that they are inclined to give lollipops. Well, they can take said lollipop and do something not so polite with it.

It has been decided via this judgement by the powers that be that this government has to go.

Either Shahbaz Shareef dissolves the government or they topple it by making an ally or two leave the coalition.

The establishment has been forced to see this government of 'experienced' players was not up to the task. The myth of Shahbaz Shareef being some great administrator has also been shattered. The thinking of some in establishment to replace Nawaz Shareef with his brother as being a viable option hopefully dies here.

The options before the establishment seem to ve limited to a technocratic government for a prolonged period (which I don't will work given the political climate) or let Imran Khan back in.

However, it seems IKs pressure as well as the passive pressure from abroad (by not giving generous terms in loans) has led to this.

Let's see how long it takes for elections to be announced. I wouldn't be surprised if it is within a day or two.
