Indian vice captain Virat Kohli let down a lot of fans when he went out to bat against Australia in the World Cup semi finals and got out after scoring just a single run.

As soon as Virat got out, his girflriend Anushka Sharma, who was present at the Sydney Cricket Ground watching the match, became the target of twitterati.

The entire playing field of the micro blogging site divided itself into three teams. One team that abused the actor, another that cracked jokes and the last one that defended her.

Poor Anushka!!!

I saw a friend of mine post something really nasty about her after India's failure. The language used against her was definitely not decent.
I've yet to understand how Anushka is responsible for Virat's performance on the field?
ONLY Virat Kohli is responsible for what he does on the ground.
Why don't we credit Anushka for every Century that Virat makes or every catch that Virat takes on the ground???

But I don't expect ppl suffering from lalochezia to understand this. All this is so silly!!

But Ash you know what I find even more sillier??? I find those ppl silly who take this opportunity to take digs at hindus.
I find the topic of this thread completely vacuous ,for none of the fans haVe called Anushka unlucky for Virat (in which case it could have been called superstitious). Honestly, I'm flummoxed as to whom should I drill sense into? Crazy cricket fans? Or into someone who relates 2 unrelated topics??

I did not enjoy Aussies winning but had to troll, because of Indian commentators and ads which were arrogant all along. Boasted, they never hesitated to (exceptions not counted) make fun of others. If they had realized its a game that can go in anyone's favor may be their attitude would have been more of a sportsman.

All respect to Dhoni, played and led Indian team well. After him I don't see India a competitive team anymore and last Asian Cup is a proof of that.
