FLYING BULLS
The Flying Bulls is a team of people passionate about antique airplanes and helicopters for which aviation is a fascinating science. With this philosophy, Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team is one of the most popular aerobatics teams in the world. The origins of this team should be sought in the early ’60s. Since its first flight, the team requirements have remained the same: to have a strong voice in the development of aerial acrobatics. Their success brought them two world championship titles in aerobatics competitions and honorary membership of the International Aeronautical Federation. Their impressive performance is present at the most important shows and demonstrations of the famous aeronautical events, reaching in China and Japan.
Flying Bulls have rebounded at BIAS 2013 with two special and unique aircraft; therefore, we are looking forward to seeing the surprises they are preparing for this year edition of BIAS.
PAKISTAN AERONAUTICAL COMPLEX
Bucharest International Air Show is first and foremost a reason to enjoy souls and we have prepared a last minute surprise, Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, a team which will perform with an MFI -17 Mushshak aircraft used for pilot training but also for surveillance operations and transportation.
AEROBATIC YAKKERS
As we are accustomed, Aerobatic Yakkers offer some of the most spectacular aerial demonstrations which can be seen at BIAS, fascinating the audience with a grandiose performance and a great atmosphere. As the only private aerial aerobatic formation from Romania, the Yakkers use a Yak 52 TW aircraft, which is a flight school, training and high acrobatics demonstration aircraft. It can fly both day and night.
Ioan Postolache – head band, Dan Stefanescu – right teammate and Dan Conderman – left teammate, piloting their Yak 52 TW (entirely manufactured in Romania), succeed to impress the audience with spectacular aerial evolutions at a height between 100 and 800 meters above the ground, within a radius of one km, at speeds from 0 to 450 km / h.

JURGIS KAIRYS
When you meet Jurgis Kairys, you can hardly believe that you are sitting in front of the inventor of many aerobatic maneuvers practiced today. Although he is 62 years old, if you also have the opportunity to chat for a while, you begin to understand why they say that age only matters on the inside. Last year, the effervescent combination of passion, experience and creative spirit made the evolution of Jurgis Kairys one of the most impressive ones of BIAS 2013. His branded performance is always surprising; therefore we expect something entirely new and extraordinary every time. He was the first in the world officially permitted to fly under the bridge, in 1996, to perform the very special Millennium flight under all ten bridges in the City of Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1999, with a Yak 50 aircraft. Obviously, he also became world’s first ever officially permitted inverted under bridge flight in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 2000, this time on a Su26 aircraft.
Jurgis Kairys discovered his interest in flying during his childhood and in 1973 he graduated Viborg Aviation Technics School. He became an airframe mechanic, engineer and, in 1974, he started to fly at the Kaunas Aerobatic Flying Club, inLithuania. He became an airframe mechanic, engineer and, in 1974, he started to fly at the Kaunas Aerobatic Flying Club, in Lithuania. In 1984, he graduated Civil Aviation Academy in Sankt Petersburg, becoming an engineer pilot.
The style of acrobatics we see today was developed over thirty years ago by Lithuanian friends Jurgis and Steponas Artiskevicius competing with each other and coaching each other in the Lithuanian and, from 1977, Soviet teams. Today every unlimited pilot flies in the aggressive style promoted by the Lithuanians in the seventies. Jurgis engineering and piloting skills were recognized when he was asked to work as a test pilot for the Sukhoi Design Bureau in 1989, to develop the Sukhoi 26, 29 and 31. Completely new experimental aerobatic aircrafts started to dominate the Unlimited Aerobatic World and Jurgis became multiple world champion – he won two times gold and three times silver at Freestyle World Aerobatic Championships, two times he became World Grand Prix of Aerobatics overall champion, won the first Redbull Airrace, in 2003, in Zeltveg, Austria. Jurgis has invented several aerobatic maneuvers: “SlidePass” (1992), “Kairys Wheel” (1987), “Small Loop” (1992) and was the first to successfully perform the “Cobra” (1992). He is also the first aerobatic pilot to hover his aircraft like a helicopter. In 2004 he modified theMoscowaviation institute project and developed it into his “JUKA” aircraft.
