So, he was 54 years old when he began working for Sukhoi. That's a hell load of experienced guy he was, to head the Sukhoi-30 project!!

And how much old LCA team chief is? I guess he was under 40 when he began working. That shows how behind India is in aerospace R&D experience and how immature we are to expect DRDO to come out with AMCA by just 2018!!!

If we had begun aerospace R&D projects in 1980's or even 1970's, we would be having an army of experienced aerospace engineers today and AMCA path would been much smoother. But now we are past LCA, we have crossed first leg. We will gain real maturity in aircraft science only when AMCA attains IOC. Amen!!

Lost of lessons to be learnt from Russia!

RIP!!

^^^^^^^^That is a weird logic. We are not expecting anything out of the ordinary by ADA!!If their scientists have the confidence to meet the deadline and bring out a deadly stealth fighter A/C by 2018 then it's okay but if they cannot, then please make way for better scientists that are truly capable!
But +1 for the third para.............................:)

the 3rd and 2nd para, says same thing.

In 2nd para, I wasn't comparing ages of two persons working on two different aircraft R&D projects. But I was showing the huge difference(almost 15+ years) between average ages of aircraft R&D heads in both country.

Logically, most experienced people are selected to head such projects. So, what this difference shows is, India is 15+ years behind if you just consider the R&D experience time-frame. But ofcourse, Russia is many many Generations ahead, not just 15+. But this comparison was a simple way to show, we shouldn't be so aggresive with AMCA expectations. Expect some delays coming in AMCA too. If ADA really flies first prototype by 2017-2018(which they can do, considering LCA experience) in its "full" 4.5+ stealth generation profile, kudos to them!

LCH was pulled off within timeframe because there wasn't much R&D on new materials involved in it. It took 1.5 years from paper on design stage. But AMCA is totally different beast, which will require lot of labwork on new materials. And, right now design is not final. The real fun starts when design is frozen by IAF. Lets wait when they begin!!!!!

Well logically, engineers tend to complete their job on-time!!Also Dr.Kota might have been selected due to his ability to achieve!!!So, what this difference shows is, India is 15+ years behind if you just consider the R&D experience time-frame. My comments/answers in red............:)

The points you made have been the same which Indian media uses to turn down the achievements gained from LCA project.

Basically, what you are saying is, LCA is wasted effort just because IAF doesn't understand how to estimate a correct timeframe for project of LCA's stature coming from people with no historic experience on even 3rd Generation fighter aircrafts.

I won't blame Mr.Kota because he delivered LCA much faster than even europeans would have, given the resources(material, lack of experience). He has done fantastic job. On other hand, IAF is immature who has no understanding of aircraft R&D life-cycles.

IAF is nothing but a di*kheaded organisation which can't even prepare its own growth roadmap without foreign consultants. So, forget about pointing fingers on others.

Rest in Peace Sir
You deserve that.
Your creation is ensuring the safety of many nation.

Even Sukhoi project was delayed many times and slipped schedule but Russians don't whine like immature babies. This is unique to Indians.

Some Indians just don't know how to respect and believe in their own talent and encourage them to do better.

We are really unique. Some people even started crying after India tested nuke or missile that as a peaceful country and land of Gandhi blah blah, how can we develop nukes and missile!!! lol Whoever developed its own system had failures, but we cannot afford failures because have such idiots.

But the funny thing is one side they don't want India to develop such systems, on the other side they bash India if there is some failure!! Duality!
