Suifism is so tolerant unlike extremist Islam.

Extremism in any religion in intolerant. Be it Christianity, Judaism or Hinduism. The history is replete with examples of massive intolerance on the part of extremists from all the religions. Why single out Islam alone?

Israels ambassador is a clever man.He knows that unlike Muslims in other parts of the world Indian Muslims are not ardent supporters of Palestine.He also knows that Indian Muslims are amongst the most liberal and tolerant Muslims in the world.

Muslims are tolerant everywhere. You need to realize this. Not every single Muslim wants to pick a fight with his non-Muslim neighbour. However there are many amongst the Muslims who don't like being pushed around and subjugated either.

The Muslims in India have no need to be intolerant. The same goes for Muslims in Pakistan and elsewhere. In Pakistan, the masses condemn the killings of sunnis, shias, qadianis by the extremists. The vast majority (98&#37 of Pakistani Muslims are just as tolerant as any around the world.

As far as Indian Muslims not being supporters of Palestine is a misunderstanding in your mind. The real reason is that Muslims are a minority in India. They have their own issues to deal with and it makes no sense for them to be holier than the pope on issues over which they have very little influence (their POV is not even represented in the Indian state policy toward Israel), so if they are not extremely vocal about Palestine, then its because of domestic compulsions. Muslims across the world feel alike about the subjugation of the Palestinians.

Having an Israelis ambassador come to a dargah may increase goodwill and that should be fine, however this does not mean that Indian Muslims don't care. They do. You can trust me on this.

people who are civilized and progressive in the Muslim populace would ignore these verses if they really exist in the holy book.It is the core and essence of the message which really matters......which to any open minded person is perfectly sound....and we must remember that traditions and realities of survival in the 1st century was dramatically different than the present day..... those words you wrote are in english probably translated and interpreted by a scholar based on his perspective of 1st century arabic and its upon the reader \listener to understand the original and its real meaning himself.....regards.....

this is exactly the point which I was trying to make....no one can claim to have the "correct translation" .....almost all scholars interpret based on their perspective.....


by the way I gather this from my interactions with several Muslim scholars of different sects....Sunnis , Shias and also Ahmediyas (who are classified as muslim in india).....
