The Sudanese army has deployed thousands of forces on the eastern border with Eritrea after Egypt, in coordination with the United Arab Emirates, dispatched its forces to a base in Eritrea.

The Sudanese forces have been stationed at a garrison in the border state of Kassala, as both Sudan and Ethiopia have shut down their borders with Eritrea, Sudan Tribune reported on Saturday.

The troops were deployed in anticipation of a possible influx of Eritrean refugees to Sudan’s border, the report said.

The deployment of forces came as Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has declared a state of emergency in Kasala and in North Kordofan state for six months.

According to the Sudanese newspaper Assayha, the Ethiopian government has also dispatched military reinforcements to the border with Eritrea and Sudan.

The newspaper cited Ethiopian sources as saying that the deployment of Sudanese forces came after Eritrean military reinforcements, backed by Egypt, as well as rebel movements from the Darfur region in western Sudan, were stationed at Sawa base near the Sudanese-Eritrean border.

According to Al Jazeera, a number of military and security leaders from Egypt, the UAE, Eritrea and the Sudanese rebels have held a meeting at Sawa base.

New tensions have erupted between Sudan and Egypt following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Khartoum in late December. Sudan announced its decision to summon its ambassador to Egypt for consultation, hours after the head of the Sudanese Border Technical Committee, Abdullah Al-Sadiq, accused Egypt of trying to “drag Sudan into direct [military] clashes.”

During Erdogan’s visit, Sudan agreed to hand over the Ottoman-era Suakin Island on Sudan’s Red Sea coast to Ankara. Turkey plans to rehabilitate the historic island in order to make it as a tourist site and a transit point for those who want to perform Umrah or Lesser Pilgrimage from Turkey to Saudi Arabia’s holy sites.

Bashir and Erdogan also signed key agreements on a variety of issues just three months after Turkey formally opened a $50 million military training base in the African country as Ankara wields growing influence in the region.

The development drew harsh criticism from the Egyptian and Persian Gulf Arab media, with some accusing Sudan of forming an alliance with Turkey, Iran and Qatar. Both the Sudanese and Turkish officials have rejected the speculation.

The Egyptian media have been severely criticizing Sudan over its support for Ethiopia and its Renaissance Dam on the Nile.

Egypt has reportedly asked Ethiopia to exclude Sudan from the negotiations about the dam, which is feared to disrupt Nile’s crucial water supply to Egypt

Maybe after 5 years, Sudan joins Egypt again?
The Sudanese Army would quite easily be crushed by the Egyptians. If Cairo plans a war, then I hope it is over quickly and swiftly.

Good Lord the "Ummah" fighting among each other. I don't blame many Muslims for their pessimism regarding the unity of Muslims.
I hope they can resolve this.

Sir, is this the Ummah?

:eek::eek::eek:

Sudan has a Army ?
Sudan is a bit anti-Israel. Israel had bombed their military factories in the past

. . .
The most threat to umaah are people like some of those comment here.....

First of all if Egypt wants to attack Sudan there is a Thousand KMs long borders ..... Egypt can pick any site to attack.
But That MB regime in Sudan tries to get it’s people’s attention to an external enemy to overcome the recent turmoils in Sudan due to decreasing it currency value from about 7 Pounds per one Dollar to 18 one Sudanese pounds per one Dollar...that leads to increasing prices dramatically.

This type of news only comes from Aljazeera as usual to divide Muslim countries.

Sir, is this the Ummah?

The thing that I hate most is the IRANIAN Hypocrisy.....
What is wrong with Israel for Iranian.....?!
It is just a tool to practice the Iranian Hypocrisy...... Egypt Faught Israel 4 times while your big mouths faught much more times I admit.....as for The West......you celebrated a lot for agreeing on the Nuclear deal with the( kofaar )of the West.....such Hypocrisy.:disagree:

Considering how successful Egypt is in the Sinai?

It is a quiet marvelous success... considering ISIS flow from Syria to Sinai and and some members from Gaza Tunnels to Sinai.
And there is another scale you can measure.....Egypt didn’t receive any external Military assistance and no country ever tried to attack any target be it via air born or UAV in Egypt without our permission (if you know what I mean) :victory1:

I really hope these tensions are diffused quickly for the sole reason that we've all had enough fighting and death. I'd really hate to see us go to war with Sudan because that lowlife MB cretin al-bashir is itching for one. Let's not give him what he wants.

However, if push comes to shove, There's a uniform with my name tag on it waiting for me to come home and jump right back into it (It might be a little harder than it used to after 2 years of having McDonald's) :cheesy:. Let's just hope it doesn't get to that. It was supposed to be for somethingmuch more serious like mutant red Sea sharks or Israeli zombies, or mutant Israeli zombie sharks. How awesome would that be. :P

Add to the above the fact that after 7 years of deadly insurgency they have failed to seize control of any territory. Just hiding in the mountains and doing hit-and-runs like the cockroaches that they are.

Turkey needs to put to action where its mouth is. It needs to help Sudan from another Zionist backed attack on an independent country. If it has not already started, Turkey needs to send its military advisers to reorganize the Sudanese military into a real fighting force.

Oh well.. time to start getting back in shape I guess. A good song that used to play during my reserve officer training..

My Homeland, My Homeland,
I'm the fire that shall burn your enemies.
I shall form another Nile with my blood to nourish you.
No one else but me shall die for you.
My Homeland, My Homeland,
I shall never compromise you. Oh my Homeland.
My Homeland, My Homeland,
With my last dying words I shall call your name.
