New Delhi/ Kuwait: India’s another ruling party (BJP) MP, Subramanian Swamy drew sharp flak from the Arab twitteratis for calling Kuwait government as ‘Namak Haram’ (Ungrateful). Prominent activist Mujeel Alshrika said Indians received billions of dollars in remittance and a very brotherly treatment for decades but in return Arabs got ‘abuse’.

Former union minister and BJP leader Swamy is known for his diatribe against the Muslim community sparking many controversies in the past. After Kuwait passed a legislation limiting the number of Indians to not exceed more than 15% of the total expat-population, Swamy took to twitter to attack the oil-rich gulf state.

While calling Kuwait Govt’s “Namak Haram”, in his tweet, a BJP executive member recalled India’s help during the occupation of Kuwait by Iraq in 1991.

He tweeted “Kuwait Govt’s Namak Haram. In 1991 in dealing with Kuwait’s plight following the Sadaam Hussein invasion and annexation to Iraq, at the request of the US, I negotiated on behalf of Chandrashekhar govt to permit the US Air Force to refuel in India to help Kuwait”.
Reacting on this, Social activist and Director of the Center for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law in Kuwait, Mujeel Alshrika blasted BJP leader Swamy for calling Kuwait government as ‘Namak Haram’. He said earlier BJP MP Tejasvi_Surya first publicly abused Arab women and now another MP using the same language. While threatening response from the Arab world, he reminded that Indian expats get billions of dollars from Gulf countries as remittances.’

“While receiving Billions of Dollars in remittance and a very brotherly treatment to Indians for decades the current Hindutva rulers chose to abuse us in return. First their MP @Tejasvi_Surya abused our women publicly, now another MP @Swamy39. Calls us “Namak Haram”, We’ll respond.”

His tweet was shared and supported by many Arab twitteratis.

The latest legislation on expats in effect would mean that 8.5 lakhs Indians in Kuwait who were till now sending home hard currency and sustaining the economy of many states like Kerala will be forced to leave Kuwait and come back home where nothing but despair awaits them. In 2018, India received close to $4.8 billion (approx. ₹35,939 Crore at present rate) from Kuwait as remittances.

Earlier, Alshrika had tweeted asking the Kuwait Health ministry to immediately halt all health service-related contracts with India after Dr. Aarati Lalchandani’s video had recently gone viral showing her passing hateful comments against Muslims and Tablighi Jamat members.

Dr. Aarati Lalchandani was the Principal of government medical college, Kanpur, UP but the UP’s BJP government did not take any action against her for this communal outpourings and she was only transferred to another place.

Alshrika in his several tweets had requested Indian government to reign in hate mongers specially those politicians who are in the ruling party but his requests fell on deaf ears.

Recently in a tweet Alshrika informed about an agreement of cooperation with Pakistan seeking services of expert doctors and nurses to face the challenges of Corona.

Haha. This is what happens when you think you are a super power and other countries owe you everything. BJP has brought forward all the irresponsible people in the govt.

the core of it is Arrogance. Indians, just watch Indian media (they cannot think outside of it) and perceive India as super power. A power who can bend any country on her knees. They are delusional and arrogant.
This arrogance made azazel/iblees a devil.

plus Pakistan army was responsible for largest mine clearing effort after first gulf war. So he is bragging about refuelling same as Modi was on building library. @BHarwana plz find the source and put on twitter this fact.
Edit. ok not largest, it was BD brothers... @UKBengali

How about passing a new law,

Not 15% but 1.5%, show them what Namak Haram really means. Just add a dot between 1 and 5, not too difficult. :yahoo:
