Baby killed as fat babysitter collapses and dies on top of him

AN obese *babysitter *smothered a *newborn baby to death when she collapsed and died on top of him.

Teresa Coffey, 39, who was 5ft 6in tall and weighed more than 196 pounds, was found on top of tiny Michael Baldwin on a sofa by his horrified *father, also called Michael.

The TV anchorman had ditched a broadcast and raced home because there was no answer when he phoned home.

Mr Baldwin said: “I lifted her and he was underneath. I just grabbed him and called his name – but I knew he was dead.”

The deaths in Long Island, US, have been described by police as a “tragic accident”.

But *toxicology tests will be done after a bottle of *prescription pills was found at the home.
