Delhi, Manali and Shimla- carry woollen clothes. It's winter. Make sure that all your locations are booked in advance. Ask him to take an uber if possible- public transport needs a lot of haggling. He/ She can save some grief.

.
why go to shimla & manali in winter? its very cold there, unless you are into wintersports you will hate it.
rest of the places will be cold, so should bring warm cloths.

.
All these places will be damn cold, except Kolkata. Sweaters won't do in December. Get proper jackets, Gloves, woolen socks. Stay away from buses or autos. In Delhi, travel only by Metro or Uber. Stay safe.

Delhi -December will be freezing cold, carry warm clothes. Must try Delhi street food. If you get chance go to Old delhi for the most authentic muglai cusine. Karim's restraunt is a must try.
Manali- December month snow clad mountain. Rohtang pass is amazing with deep valleys and most breath taking view.
Shimla -Cold but beautiful.
Rajasthan -Cold @night, day time will be fine. Must try Dal bhatti churma. Local shopping is must try with fort visits.
Agra- Cold in Dec-Must visit Taj.
Kolkata - One of he best street food India can offer. Sweets will be amazng to try.

You need woolen clothes and a jacket , gloves at this time in Delhi,Agra and Manali.

The days start at around 10:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM. Make sure you people eat hot food and take hot tea at various intervals of the day. Book a nice hotel with generator because morning water(you need hot water) for bath is a problem in the colder regions if power goes off.

Book the hotels and plan the trip in a detailed way. Take medicines for fever, body pains with you, since there is a weather change the body will take time to adjust. You need to bargain with taxi drivers, guides etc...etc...,

If you are going for skiing the skiing accessories are available at the solang pass(for less price) do not rent it before you go to solang pass they will charge more money.

Rajasthan and Kolkata is warmer this time of the year I think (no idea).

Welcome to India and Have a nice time !

Rohtang may just be closed by Dec.

Rajasthan - Cold post sundown. Where exactly are they planning to go . Jaipur / Ajmer or further west ?

Post No 7 covers up the rest

Delhi-Will be cold at december.
Rajasthan- Won't be as cold as Delhi but the smooth cold wind(Gulabi Sradi) will give you a fever if you take it too lightly.
Welcome to India.

If its his first time out of Bangladesh, then tell him his body is not acclimatized to cold. He should bring lots of woollens for Delhi, Manali, Shimla. Its gets real cold there in December.

Kolkata is near coast, so weather stays moderate. Rajasthan is hot in the day, cold in night.

ok. As somebody already mentioned, simply sweater wont work, need proper jacket, woolen scarf, gloves and shoes that is completely closed. no sports shoes or trainers in simla, I realized it hard way, all cold air going through sports shoes, its horrible when your feet is cold.

.
When in the mountains, only thing worse than cold feet is cold wet feet.

Expensive big $ riding boots with GoreTex and other waterproofing technologies are worth their weight in gold here.

Found out on a winter ride to Himachal (to snowed out Tibet border and Spiti) once with a friend who had Alpinestars touring boots and me in double woolen army socks and DMS boots.

The state of our feet every night was a study in contrasts.

It was so cold that the body actually shivered strong enough to make you feel like puking. Our first night at Narkanda post Kufri was -18 degrees.

And then there were the sudden patches/sections of black ice.

Bliss!

Delhi,Agra - It'll be quite cold.Temperature drops as much as to 5 degree.

Manali,Shimla- These places are literally freezing.I wonder what kind of study tour it is as during December, the major attraction is snow.but it'll be sort of deserted as most businessman generally leaves for plain during this time.

Rajasthan- During night,it'll be quite cold.

Kolkata-Just like Bangladesh.A bit warmer perhaps.
