Strength of alliance between India-Isreal

The topic has gone way offtopic.

I agree it is getting way off-topic so we can agree to disagree.

Anyway, coming back to topic, the question arises what is in it for both sides?
For India, it gets access to first-rate American and Israeli technology.

For Israel, the answer is a bit more tricky. With all due respect to India, Israel doesn't need India for technical expertise -- they have front row access to the latest American tech. India's economy is a draw, but nothing compared to the much richer demographics in the West and China. Which leaves the military angle. Israel-India friendship really took off during the Kargil war and, since then, the relationship has been focussed on the militaries.

In general, the Israelis don't go for joint ventures. The only other country, besides the US, that they work with is South Africa and that relationship goes back to the days when the two of them were international pariahs.

Why does Israel cooperate militarily with India and not, say, Brazil or France?
Is it all just to 'stick it' to Pakistan? Is it a way to get indirect access to Russian tech?

...And the oft-quoted, sometimes much hyped Jewish lobby in Capitol Hill.

Bolded part- true but not absolutely true. Israelis have drawn upon India's expertise in composites and certain other features that was there in Arjun as said in that thread. But more or less I agree with this.

Nope this part is not true. There are lots of over ground and under-ground JVs between India and Israel aand one such is the Barak missile system under development.

Because we have the demand and the rivals to fuel that demand. Plain.

What enemies that France or Brazil have as to warrant them huge demand ?? Nothing I suppose.

But India, we have a huge demand to replace our aged weapon systems and mate it with the presence of two nuclear rivals on our either borders and you get the perfect market for your weapons and the market of one billion in other economic terms is too big to ignore.

BTW your point regarding sticking it up to Pakistan seems plausible considering that Pakistani pilots fought the Israelis for the Arabs.

I dont like the title Zionist i dont support them  but i support the state of Israel and the Jewish people

Terrorist State of Israel is Zionist while Jewish people are different than this zoinist lobby of Israel.
So Either India is supporting terrorist zionist state of Israel or Jewish people . You cant support both a time

India supports Israel's right to peaceful existence but India also supports the Palestinian people.

India desires a peaceful settlement to the issue in a manner which will take care of the interests of both the sides.

This has always been our stand.

Having said that, India will not compromise on its national interests. If we gain by having friendly relations with Israel, so be it.

But we do stand for a peaceful settlement to the Palestinian issue.

I know -- let's move Israel from lands occupied from Arabs post-WW2 and put Israeli in India!

I think I know Muslims better than you... Those 20% in Israel may also not be happy with what Israel is doing and after all they are not in power there so they cannot speak against Israel's state like Indian Muslims cannot speak against the state of India... We can see it in Kashmir...

Power less people can do only one thing 'Accept' and this is what Indian and Israelee Muslims or any other country's Muslims are doing right now.

But when the oppression reaches it's peak then it happens what is happening in Egypt. The biggest ally of Israel in Arab world against the will of people... Turkey Ally of Israel against the will of people we see the will of people in freedom flotilla incidence....

My advice for Indian government is that don't publicize or praise your relations with Israel so much because it's definitely gonna harm you in the end

Can you stop trolling here?? Just because you are Muslim and many Indians are Muslim does NOT make you the same, in India the Muslims are part of a SECULAR country from the outset, protected by the Indian constitution to practice their religion as are Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhist etc it is this idea of secularism and common enemies that has drawn India and Israel together. Just because you living in Pakistan hate Israel doesn't mean all Indian Muslims do to infact there is more to life than just religion in both India and Israel; just look at what w the case a few years ago: a Muslim president, a Sikh PM and a Christian who was the head of the ruling party.

Just because of your own ignorance YOU are unable to get past hostility to all but yourself does not mean others can't and before you comment on POSITIVE news like this address the plethora of issues inside your own country, like for example the sickening religious hostility in Pakistan: beheaded Sikhs who refuse to pay a tax for being non-Muslim, a mother of FOUR sentenced to death for being a Christian, an MP being killed by his own BODYGUARD for speaking out against this and the bodyguard then being hailed a HERO and just to illustrate my point look at what happens today, ANOTHER MP killed for the same reason. it is just sickening to know that if I or any other non-Muslim wanted to go to Pakistan we would be under real threat of death, no wonder Pakistan's tourist board are so busy!!!

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
