It's Kolkota type Destroyer...... we already have some but new will be more stealthy and have weapons and sensors of indian origin

India is using Barak II ( Also called as Barak-8) which has range of 70km which is good for air defense role .

India is Building 4 more of this war ships under Project 15B. which is going to have air defense missile range up to 100KM.

P-15A getting a new generation air defence system named BaraK-8 ER/LR-SAM. It will have a range of 70 km. The four sided MF-STAR is a long range AESA radar. Its air defence capabilities and technologies are much better than 052C or anything PLAN is getting in future. Though HQ-9 or any other latest version has longer range than LR-SAM but the LR-SAM is new and combined with latest technologies in the field of SAM.

This engine for Shivalik class(it will commission at end of this month) FFG. and it will deliver last yr may-june not Kolkata class destroyer

Delivered and fitted on the Project 17 Shivalik class frigates.

Kolkatta class destroyer will be having the Barak-II Air defence missiles which has range around 70 Kms. Secondly in ship Air defence system accuracy matters the most instead of more n more range of the missile.

Look for HHQ-9 SAM... And C-602 cruise missiles...
