Status of Drone Strikes in FATA after Merger

I think that if PTI gets a elected we can expect a serious change in policy regading drone strikes.

If the other status quo parties are elected there won't be change in policy. Only the usual condemnation.

There is a reason why the Americans openly dislike PTI. IK has been very vocal against US drone strikes.

Although I must say that the Americans haven't carried out a drone strike in Pakistan for a long time now. Most of the strikes have been on the border area inside Afghan territory. The Americans don't want to aggravate an already dysfunctional and hostile relationship. However they do want to use it as a carrot and stick. At least that is what the Yanks believe they can use it as. They are obviously dead wrong on that.

with merger of FATA, pakistani state is fully responsible for any suspicious activity on this side of border. drone strikes on KPK are simply un acceptable. our military and civilian leaders will have to cope with this fact. any violation should be responded seriously, if not initially militarily

Since June 18 2004,US has used Drone Strikes against Targets in FATA, which usually have highest Target to collateral damage ratio.Till date these strikes have killed 67 Known Terrorists out of almost 3000 total deaths.
The 2 worst strikes in 13 years were Damadola airstrike & 2011 Jirga Drone Attack.
These strikes did put disastrous implications on
security scenario in Pakistan.
I haven't gone deeper into topic because it has been in discussion since 2004 on different forums,but after merger we have to view it from total different angles.

and PTI blocked the US supply route going through the province for about
3 months. Since then there has been no drone strike in KPK.

Maybe Indian drones. I don't remember last drone attack in Waziristan, why is that? Because army have cleared area to some extent. Americans were not doing target practice with drones in FATA.

Clean your house from terrorists who attack from Pakistan or others will come to do it themselves.

I think the Pak army has also made it abundantly clear that drone strikes won't be taken lightly.

Its true that PTI gov stopped U.S supply route going through KPK when there
was a drone strike in Hangu, KPK. Since then they only done Drone strikes in FATA
and none in KPK.
