According to an article by Alan Warnes, in the current issue of Air International, these FLIR systems are deployed by PAF on it's C-130s. The author flew in one such 'Herks' call sign "Stranger 12" and witnessed how a single person or militant can be tracked from a safe height of over 10,000 feet.

Also in operation is the Goodrich DB-110 Sensor system on the F-16s.

Reportedly, the RAF is assisting PAF from their experience of RAPTOR (Reconnaissance Air Pod for Tornado)

The video feed from FLIR can also be transmitted live to the ground troops in the vicinity,or so I heard by a person serving in SW.

Here is one aircraft with the FLIR system.

A C-130 equipped with these FLIR systems also played a crucial role in the Kamra attack.

There is a seven page article titled "Putting Plans to the test"....on how the PAF is supporting the army in the WOT.

These systems are playing a major role and making all the difference.......some nice HUD shots are also shown. :)

Taliban is a Toast.

One of the images from the article shows a militant caught in the gun sights of a PAF aircraft, pushing a wheelbarrow back to a cave, moments before some missiles slammed into it.

That colored image is most likely from a SNIPER XR pod.

PAF wont use these gadgets in the Border areas, and let the soldiers get massacred over and over again by Afghan insurgents and ISAF.
A documentary on Dunya news said that border check posts get at least one attack every week from Afghanistan...

.
Currently Pakistan also have Falco UAV with a targetting/Reconesence pod and an integrated AESA radar...
No shortage of tech..Yet we don't see these being used in Border areas as of yet..

They don't use it because flying F-16s on ground patrol role is too expensive, plus F-16s cannot simply hover around. The aircraft has to continuously circle over the area. That is we need optics but in a small package. Like Quadcopters, drones etc, which are easier to fly and cheaper to maintain presence wise.
