Nation-States work with what they can, make alliances where national interest is served (especially where there are existential threats) and China has delivered on multiple fronts for Pakistan.

Your argument that China would have 'dumped Pakistan the next day were it not for India' might be valid, but then Pakistan would not have needed China had India actually been a responsible State, instead of an insecure, greedy and expansionist one.

China wouldn't simply dump Pakistan if it weren't for India. Because China needs a sea outlet for its western border regardless of India. Which Pakistan can provide plus close access to the straits of Hormuz. China plans to resettle and develop its West in the next 50 years. Empires like China don't function on emotions, they make moves looking at their ramifications 50-100 years in the future. China was the first country to recognize Pakistan, they had their reasons.
