BS. I am a very Punjabi Rajput myself of a centuries old proud Bhatti clan from Rawalpindi. So in a way me too is a Pothohari. Yet, I cannot start hating a Khan who is either misinformed or ill-informed on this region's true history. Problem with sentimental people like you and so-called Muhajirs is the same. Anyone who says something provocative or insulting about your ancestors, even unknowingly, it instantly becomes a matter of life and death. IK is no God or possess ultimate knowledge on every subject. Also, he is not a historian from this region or has any authority to talk about this region's past. That I think was a serious blunder from IK's side even when he was only trying to simulate the masses to stand up for their democratic rights granted in the constitution by appealing to history.
On the shorter note, if IK only cared for his pashtuns (as a strictly racist person), how come he is campaigning so actively for the betterment of Punjab (majority of Pakistan), and later turning his attention to Sindh.
Your usual rants that IK lost "popularity" here on PDF just because he said this and he said that which is controversial in your worldview, doesn't mean we others too, who are open-minded, should blindly follow your judgement. You hate IK for being a racist. Fine. But please don't force your racist judgements on other PDF members.

I think reason for IK mindset is pretty clear. He can't speak sentence of pashto, speak urdu with punjabi accent. But by blood he is pashtun, he also insulted fellow pashtun Babar Gauri once, there is video on youtube. Intesting thing is IK video is couple of months old but no one found anything wrong till you created thread. I have never seen any actual pashtun nationalist talking like that on tv. You may have noticed Hamid Gul who is another punjabi pathan talk like Imran Khan. For exemple both will say taliban cannot be defeated, they are different breed, super humans etc

Look at drama MQM created when Shah just called MQM walas to stop calling themselves ''Muhajirs''. Same IK shut his mouth when visited Karachi and never said anything against Altaf. And we all know how much IK hate muhajirs.

I followed the thread, and not sure why it got closed, but reading through it disgusted me as well, although I am a Punjabi myself but the way thread praised Punjabis for their awesome history, bravery and ethnic superiority none the less saddened me as there is already enough ethnic conflict in Pakistan, and what is need of the hour is to keep Pakistani interest above all petty egoes, we should be acknowledging Pakistani individuals irrespective of their regional associations, celebrating any contributions they do for betterment of Pakistan, and as far as IK is concerned, he has enough great contributions under his belt, irrespective of his political career, he is a national hero, he is the only political leader who appears to have country wide support....Question for those who keep bashing him, why don't they start building hospitals and schools or NGOs to help the unprivileged in Pakistan, instead of wasting time to talk which ethnic community in Pakistan is bravest based on wars that happened few hundred years ago...

Someone with grivience should not be hated but listened and understood, those in the capacity should take responsibility to initiate positive gestures, one day Pakistanis will realize when there was too much sectarian and ethnic violence going on, we did not stood by victims to express our solidarity and show we are ONE, we did not do efforts to appease the aggrieved, instead our ego kicked in.

One MQM politician made a remark "Punjab ke har ghar mein mujra hota hai". He soon apologized all the Punjabi people afterwards because he was a stronger man.

I never said we were brave or ethnically superior people. I just challenged the notion that we have always been bangle wearing weaklings like the other ethnic groups in Pakistan portray us as.

I really think these people have no self respect. We Punjabis are not respected anywhere outside of Punjab in Pakistan because most of us don't even respect ourselves. And he only made a small veiled reference to Sindhis but focused mostly on Punjabis. Had he said a bit more about Sindhis, they would have protested against him.

The only province Punjab might have exploited is Balochistan, because Punjabi politicians exploited their gas reserves. Hence I recognize Baloch peoples' grievances and am apologetic towards them. We haven't done anything wrong to qabaylis, KPK people and Sindhis. They just scapegoat us for their own shortcomings.

And we're relatively prosperous because of our business acumen and fertile land. Even Afghanistan hired Punjabi khatris in colonial era as economic ministers and businessmen.
