SSG Inter Unit Sniper Competition 2020

Blurring of faces is a silly thing to do when not needed. SSG is a division strength outfit. Most of the manpower is employed openly as needed.

Covering faces is primarily for the safety of the troops and if any operational needs exist. If troops are being employed in CI roles, then concealing their faces makes sense because insurgents may potentially identify the troops and take measures against individuals or their families. Otherwise it does not matter. Why bother concealing their faces? Many do it to maintain an air of secrecy/opaqueness. In the conventional realm, it does not matter.
Thanks for clearing this up

With advances in facial recognition tech, we need to start considering it.

Facial profiles can be matched against social network databases to find related persons. They can then be targeted via cyberhacks to gain access to communication channels. Remember that these days even smart TVs and fridges are listening to you.

. . . . .
The video shows three rifle types
The old horse is the Steyr 7.62x51mm
The one they use more is the Accuracy International AW 7.62x51mm
And for longer ranges of course the recently inducted RangeMaster 50 cal
Though SSG as well has the US BARRETT 50 cal as well
Thats not steyr but M24/40.

Steyrs were phased out by SSG.
