Poor illiterate fishermen - who were unfortunately called thieves since 1970s though they were fishing for centuries in the same waters due to senseless Indira and the senseless officials at Central government of India deciding illegally on the rights of fishermen and also giving away land to a country which had just supported the other side in the most recent war.

Five fishermen from this district were injured in a mid-sea attack allegedly by their counterparts in Sri Lanka off Kodiakarai coast today.

According to official sources, eight fishermen of Perumalpettai in the district ventured into the sea yesterday in two boats from Vedaranyam.

When they were fishing a few knots off-Kodiakarai coast today morning, the Lankan fishermen arrived there in several boats and attacked them with sickles and stones.

Five Indian fishermen received severe injuries in the incident, the sources said.

Other fishermen fishing in the vicinity brought the injured to Nagapattinam shore. They were admitted to government hospital, the sources said.

District Collector T Munusamy and Paunraj, MLA, visited the injured fishermen in the hospital.

That news article is mentioning sea around Point Pedro and Mulathiv. If you have no idea about those areas then it's better to keep silence.

Kachchathiv island is located other side of SL, If we catch TN thieves around that sea we represent them to Mannar court or Jaffna court mostly.

Bro - if he is a troll I would have ignored him - this guy talks sense most of the time(though opinions differ) and I did not want the SL discussions to become another Bangladesh thread. Most of the SL discussions does not become troll thread though the hate is there between Tamil members and Sri Lankan members(I say SL members though I have not come across a single SL tamil member)

My point of view when it comes to national interests of my country of birth solely comes through as a Sri Lankan not as a Sinhalese or Tamil.. Because i'm neither.. I don't have undue allegiance nor hate to either party.. A SL Tamil is as valuable as any Sinhalese, Moor, Burgher or a Malay to me.. I deplore Sinhala chauvinism or Tamil separatism with the same vigour..

Any interference from out side in many cases from Tamil Nadu will be rebuked and all the one sided propaganda coming though will be disseminated with the best of my knowledge..

The case in point here is plundering the marine wealth of northern SL Tamils and destroying their livelihood by organised poaching by so called Tamil Nadu fishermen.. Clearly at the behest of their political masters in Madras.. Their objectives are two fold, First to destabilise the Indo Lanka relations and keep it under strain and keep the ignorant TN polity hostile to SL through propagated media so that they can keep the Tamil separatist agenda alive in TN.. Which can be easily done when you have ignorant masses that venerate B grade Tamil movie actors tuned third class politicians as demi gods

You jokers keep bringing up the Katchativu issue as a excuse to clear thieving of SL marine wealth but fail to mention that almost 90% of these poachers are caught nowhere close to the island but mainly in the North west coast of SL marine territory.. You can have all your patriotism and you can have your rationale reasons and what not. But you are expected to keep your language civil.
