Sri Lankan Buddhists are natural animal lovers (though they don't know fish and chicken are animals) so when a mass animal killing is happening, it naturally attract attention. There was a lull about breaking into a famous Muslim controlled slaughterhouse in Colombo few years ago, but it was stopped due to religious and political reasons just like this.

Guys with this all can understand one thing. In Every country majority wont like minorities hurting their sentiments. In India indian hindus dont like muslims eating beaf.
In saudi it has its own restriction.

In SL budhists dint like thats all.

So, in Sri Lanka people can buy and kill goat in market place and hang their carcass in the market but sacrificing the goat in temple should be banned. So, would you be happy they do same during Bakrid.

They kill animals in public, I think this is ban in Sri Lankan law.

There aren't category "Tamil Muslims" in here, Tamils are mainly Hindu and Catholic and rarely some Buddhists. Sinhalese around 70% are Buddhists rest of Sinhalese are Catholic. Hindu isn't main religion though Sinhalese visit hindu Kovils, it's normal thing here. Muslims are almost believe in Islam, very rarely you will find Catholics.
Hindus sometimes participate in major Buddhists events. That's the situation here.

Btw Buddhists aren't vegetarians but there are some campaigns to discourage eating beef though.
