Sri Lanka & Allies Starts Military Exercises: Breaking News

The Sri Lanka Military-organized, ‘Exercise - Cormorant Strike IV – 2013,’ now underway in Sri Lanka entered its final week on Tuesday, rousing more excitement & tension to the participants, including foreign representatives.

Para jumps, Sea landing training, Path finding (tracking) & Obstacle Breaching demonstrations dominated the day and continue to take place within next 24 hours as the Exercise is entering a decisive phase.

Sri Lanka Navy & Air Force contingents with fast attack crafts & jets, in addition to their ground forces, joined Commandos and Special Forces of the Army, under training in this phase.

Attacks on enemy hideouts and Rack Sack marches, are among other training features, yet to take place in the final week of the Exercise.

The 15-day long Exercise with Army Commando (CR) Regiment and Special Forces (SF) Regiment troops, integrated with Navy and Air Force Special Forces, aims to enhance special operation capabilities and maintain combat readiness at all levels. It also focuses on planning, preparations, formulations, coordination, command, control, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP), execution of Special Operations.
