Squid stocks in Korean waters depleted by Chinese overfishing

@Nihonjin1051 so must increase our coast guard activity in Japanese territorial waters so Chinese never dare to fish in territorial waters . You are to nice to Chinese so you now see what happens when too nice to Chinese they smile at you and take advantage. Korea now is drain of natural resources. Korea lesson is lesson for us Japanese. I think is very important lesson I think we must start sinking illegal fishing boats.
Your English is as broken as mine. And calm down.

Hai, soo desu ! Lets not be too concerned, brother, since the Japanese Coast Guard already heavily patrols our territorial waters and there is no Chinese fishing boats that come into the waters without the intervention of the JCG. Whilst the North Koreans and the South Koreans may have a problem in remedying the unmitigated Chinese fishing trawlers within their respective (North Korean and South Korean) territorial waters, that issue is not a concern for us.

Might I remind you that just a year and a half ago the Japanese and Taiwanese Governments have signed a Fisheries Agreement that delineates , specifically, where the Taiwanese fishermen can fish without the intervention of the JCG. In addition, since this agreement came into law , the Taiwanese have remained firmly consistent in the agreement and operate only in agreed waters, so that is a security and territorial victory for Japan. In regards to the Chinese (mainlanders), their fishing trawlers seem to evade entering Japanese territorial waters and manage to go to the SCS instead or in the Korean waters. My reasoning for this is probably due to the lapsed security in those areas , less monitoring. If they enter Japanese waters, well, you know what happens, their ships are summarily boarded , parties are arrested, and are docked. Their ships are confiscated and the interlopers are deported.

As for "sinking illegal fishing boats", I think that is too drastic and that has only been reserved for spy vessels such as North Korean incident several years ago:

Besides these drastic situations , I believe that the JCG should maintain current standard operating procedures, and not resort to wanton aggression such as the sinking of any and all illegal fishing vessels in territorial waters. We have the capability, but we should not do that. Besides, i believe its much more economical to confiscate the vessels and sell it or use spare parts or what have you. :)

Hey Nihon bro, do you know you've been manipulated by Wumao? The thread has nothing to do with Japan, the thread is about China issue, and Wumao here want to divert people attention to something else so they drag you in make it into Japan issue. Japanese should be smarter than the 50 cents to see it through.

I think it is good that we know human race are overfishing.
General speaking, we knew that (especially in western world) some of our eating and living style is not sustainable and harmful to the earth, but we never give a shxt. Because last time only certain % population of the world are enjoying this type of live style. Now a billion of pandas have become richer, want to live just like others. This will push the demand a lot higher. (don't forget about the Indian who are not far behind).
However, people still don't want to change and some people try to blame the pandas to justify their living style.
In the end, we all are faxked. But we knew which countries are going into the water first due to rising sea level :yahoo:

There should be a 10 year fishing ban world wide!

Let the entire ecosystem replenish itself. Humanity can sustain itself on delicious vegetables, grains and dairy products.

China could do it.

Certain other countries that are not self sufficient with regard to food might be having problems however.

I understand that there have been forays into issue of whale hunting, as well as other maritime resource acquisition. While I do by principle agree with you that this thread has nothing to do with Japan, but is actually a concern of what's going on in South Korea and North Korea. However, my friend, in a discussion with various people, we have to be able to accomodate different points and address it as civilly as possible. :)

@yoshi.oda senpai,

We have nothing to worry about. We have one of the largest coast guard fleets in the world. And it is only growing. :)

As can expect when there is too much trust , look at Kankuko they even have FTA with Chinese think that stop the fishing problem? It only invites them more too attracted . Understand the issue when you lower your eye to enemy. Never Lower eye to enemy never. Sink ships that come illegally to Nippon. Understand this gravitas.

I suppose, my friend, this is indeed a lesson for our Maritime agencies and I believe our agencies through the cooperation of the JCG and the JMSDF, we can take measures to prevent the catastrophe that is affecting Korea -- from happening in Japan. I guess we can appreciate the 'stiff' policies of Japan, let's just remain pragmatic about this issue.

I say to you because you stay in America for long time now you are too soft with Chinese. You speak as if you are American Japanese not Japanese. Situation is grim here when concern with security.

I read your post you seem to not like Uyoku Dantai you know it is Uyoku who defend Japanese interest and say what many don't want to say .

Beware not to be liberal Nihonjin1051, careful not to listen to too many Chinese. Remember Japanese First. Everything else second.

.
I also want to point out that the Asian Steppes could in theory raise a lot of cattle if those countries got their act together. Most of those countries are already SCO members. How else do you think Mongols/Turks raised all those horses throughout history?

Are you some kind of "white supremacist" for Japan? Don't be racist against the Chinese. There are American Chinese here in the USA too you know.
