PHNOM PENH, July 17 (Xinhua) -- China is the largest provider of financial assistance to Cambodia for agriculture and irrigation development in the last three years, Cambodia's Minister of Finance Keat Chhon said here on Tuesday.

Since 2010 to date, he said, Cambodia has received a total loan of 561 million U.S. dollars and a total grant of 22 million U.S. dollars from South Korea, India, China, Japan and France.

Nha Trang opens Paracel and Spratly islands showroom

The Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang City, the coastal province of Khanh Hoa today afternoon opened the Paracel and Spratly islands showroom.

The exposition is 34 meters in length, 4.5 meters in width and 4.5-6 meters in height, placed in a tunnel through Bao Dai Mountain.

Dozens of sea creature specimens like snails, corals, giant fishes found in Paracel and Spratly islands are put on display.

Besides, the showroom features state documents on the management of Paracel islands after 1945, pictures on the troop banquet ceremony of the Paracel islands Flotilla on Ly Son island, photos on daily life and constructions on the Spratly islands.

“The Paracel and Spratly islands sea resource showroom will help foreign and domestic tourists, especially the young generation, understand more about two precious islands of Vietnam. In the future, we will try to widen the tunnel and turn the show room into an exhibition center so that Paracel and Spratly islands are always close to us,” said Doctor Bui Hong Long, vice director of the Institute of Oceanography.
