They don't support Chinese military in Solomon Islands they can't do anything about it except calling in their caretakers ofcourse the Americans.. Australia is basically defacto American controlled.. Just like how Bahrain is defacto controlled by KSA..

Those small island countries in the South Pacific usually have only tens of thousands of people. In addition to abundant fishery resources, there are only some phosphates.

If the Morrison govt had not frequently provoked China, China would not be interested in going to the South Pacific.

Now China has signed a security agreement with the Solomon Islands Govt. However, there is no plan to build a military base for the time being.
