I guess Mao was influenced by chinese history and Taoism/Buddhism thoughts that anything started must end.

But this kind of factional infighting is self-destructive and should be left for when China has no foreign enemy left.

The CCP is a super political party with 90 million Communist Party members and 40 million Communist Youth League members. It has countless talents. Even if Xi Jinping did not appear in the CCP's history, the CCP's organizational system will provide us with better leaders.

I was in China when Jiang was still in office, I stayed in China until end of 2008 when Hu was in charge. The corruption level in the whole city of Shenzhen, including the local party members appointed as factory manager to our factory were all so openly corrupt. Triad and gangsters from Hunan and Sichuan had more power than the local police.

A common example, you need to present expensive gifts to headmasters to get in all levels of schools among many common ways to get good relationships which the West used the term "guanxi" as China specific term for corruption. As for our factory, we have different ways of having good "guanxi" with our party member factory manager as the middleman, to liase with local party leaders.

The CCP of this period may be powerful and efficient, but it was rotten to the core, from top leadership to local village party members. 上梁不正下梁歪.
