NEW DELHI: Special anti-terror squads have been formed to secure Delhi's borders and sensitive zones. Codenamed Eagles, these squads will have commandos on a par with special cell's SWAT teams.

The commandos will move in special vans and will be armed with HK MP5 submachine guns and Glock 19 pistols. The first batch was deployed in easter range on Thursday where a group of six commandos scanned areas bordering Noida and Ghaziabad, between Ghazipur and Mayur Vihar. This range has been assigned 25 commandos.

"This is a pilot project. Soon, all districts will have them," said city's law and order chief Deepak Mishra.

The eastern range Eagles will have a senior inspector rank officer to monitor them. They have undergone three months of preliminary training and 10 months of SWAT training.

"They are well versed not only with weapons but also in hand to hand combat. They have been trained for precise action in crowded locations, and to be first responders to crises. Their vehicle will be escorted by Jaguar bike squad," said JCP Sanjay Baniwal.

The squads can reach any spot in Delhi within 20 minutes. "They have been trained to operate in teams of three so that they can carry on without aid," said a police officer.

It is a joke people shouldnt take my comments seriously FYI

We already have an ill-equipped SWAT team under Delhi Police. Raising another new unit doesn't make sense.
