Speaking at an ongoing Defense & Security military expo in Bangkok, a spokesman for BrahMos Aerospace, a Russian-Indian joint military venture, told RIA Novosti that formal negotiations have not begun.

“Southeast Asia is a promising market for us. During this exhibition, we have been visited by several high-ranking defense ministry officials from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines. We have had no official talks yet, but there is a high probability that they will become our clients in the future,” the spokesman said.


BrahMos Aerospace was formed by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyenia. It produces weapons systems using Russian and Indian technology.

BrahMos, a word combining Brahmaputra and Moscow, is a short-range supersonic missile, which has been in use by the Indian Navy since 2005. The missile has a range of 180 miles and can carry a conventional warhead of up to 660 pounds.

BrahMos is a very high-tech missile, I hope they don't sell it to anyone for monetary profits. Strategic importance must be given when selling this tech to make sure the countries don't pass on the tech to anyone else.

Americans can build such system any time if they want, I don't think we will be getting any order soon as the four production & assembly lines in India are full for next five years to fulfill ours own order

if they could they'd be having them by now... they've good missiles but nothing can match with brhamos's capabilities

China might already be having the blue prints of BrahMos.. and no need to sell them to this countries.. just Vietnam is enough

Ya the same country which build world's first 5th Gen fighter is now struggling to build 2nd 5th Gen fighter.. Why??

Missile being hypersonic or supersonic is another thing but how it's different from other missile of its kind matters.

It's ability to maintain the speed during its entire flight hour, ability to fly lower with variety of flight trajectories, Pin point accuracy.. huge Kinetic Energy ect... so far there's not a proper interceptor availabe except Barak-8

Bark 8, aster 15 30 all can shoot down supersonic cruise missile they were design specifically to do so which world you are living in , forget americans they are on different league all together

I already mentioned about Barak-8 but Aster 15 its a short rang missile with 30km, it'll have very less time to react..and it's flight altitude from 50M, Brahmos can fly as low as 3-4 M and not to mention the S Maneuver where it's goignt to be very difficult for any anti missiles to do the Job, not sure about Aster 30 but what i forgot to add in my last thread was no one in our region who'll face Brahmos have the capability to stop it.

and what about American are on a different league???!! Their own Patriot missiles filed to shoot down Scuds over 70% times..
they still are debating how to shoot down the brahmos !! and their results have lots of flow..

30 km is adequate as chance of detecting a low flying cruise missile only happen at that range for eg Kolkata class destroyer will only detect brahmos type missile flying low no more than 30 km away an aster 15 can take on brahmos so will barak 8 , dont consider me as chamcha as for americans I will repeate they are the apex predator in military technology no one even come close & never will

Interested is word of loosers, Never count your chickens before they hatch. We havn't exported a single Brahmos till now.
