Park Yong-maan, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will also be in this delegation, which will be comprised of 156 business executives and representatives of economic organizations, said Ahn Jong-beom, South Korea's senior presidential secretary for economic affairs at the Monday press conference.

Park will pay a three-day visit to Beijing, Wednesday, to attend China's military parade that marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Kyrgyzstan inaugurated a Chinese-financed power line on August 28 that President Almazbek Atambaev called "a historic event."

The 450-kilometer Datka-Kemin power line is expected to save Kyrgyzstan millions in transit fees, as its electricity will no longer pass through neighboring Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Atambaev said at the power line's inauguration in the northeastern settlement of Kemin that "it's possible to say that Kyrgyzstan obtained energy independence today."

The $390 million deal to build the power line was struck with the Chinese Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Company (TBEA) in 2010.

China's economic influence in Central Asia has grown tremendously in the last decade, surpassing its traditional partner Russia in regional trade and encompassing deals worth tens of billions of dollars with energy-rich Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Not as large as the Japanese delegation which came to Beijing earlier this year but it seems a new chapter of China-ROK ties has been opened. South Korea remains a crucial ally of the US but at the same time cooperation between China and South Korea is being strengthened.

This is starting to get very deep between China and Korea. I bet there are mumblings about a mutual trade for Korean unification. The north turns in its nukes to China, and agrees to let the South reunify the country and run it. Elite North Korean officials get amnesty, either in China or Korea. And Korea kicks out the fat occupier. I can see this happening within 15 years. In another thread, China is building a HSR line upto the NK border. It's happening faster than we thought, East Asian integration. Japan will get around it before long too.

China is already the epicenter of the industrial world. It will only become more so with Asian integration, the AIIB and the Silk Road. GO CHINA! I love a country that does everything to get ahead in life, instead of some other countries who do everything to keep others down, even ignore their own decaying infrastructure etc.

Indeed. Outside interference is the least desirable option, even it may be done by China. Beijing can offer more economic incentives, but, for a political rapprochement, the foreign military presence must go. Under present conditions, a unified Korea is not desirable.

You know a surprising fact?

Almost everyone agreed that the biggest beneficiary will be China if there was a United Korea, given US troops are called out of Peninsula.

People were playing this scenario that US removes its troops, and Korea reunifies. Who benefits and who loses?

China is the biggest beneficiary:

1. It gets a headache that is North Korea removed.

2. It gets the whole Peninsula to revert to neutrality.

3. Korea will suddenly be far more integrated with China, and the Manchurian areas will see better economic connections. Imagine a HSR between Beijing and Seoul. It will take less time than Beijing to Shanghai.

4. Since Korea will keep getting closer to China economically and culturally, Korea will in 10-15 years become aligned with China in some way.

5. Today Korea is no threat to Japan militarily, because it is kept under US leash. But a united Korea, which is more anti-Japan than even China, will essentially create a regional rival for Japan. Japan will be contained, and will face threat from all sides.

6. Korea is perhaps the only nation, that emotionally understands China. Korea was always supposed to be allied with China, but China during the Korean war chose the completely wrong side. It is very clear now that the Kim is running a dynasty, whose only purpose is to keep that fat pig in power. Not development, not safety nothing. Only keep that pigs arse in power.

I think you should seize the opportunity.

Park Geun Hye would love to be the person immortalized for Korean reunification, and she would be more than willing to kick out US troops, and end her country's alliance with US.

Wonderful and very logical. Good. It will happen. I just hope South Korea doesn't get skinned alive by the US for doing it.
