South Korean firm keen to invest in Sindh power projects

KARACHI: Korean Southern Power Company Limited (KOSPO) Friday offered of generating 2,000 megawatts of power within 5-year period in Sindh.

A delegation of KOSPO meeting with advisor to Chief Minister on Investment Muhammad Zubair Motiwalla committed to produce 200 MWs in first two years.

Park Seog-Ho and General Manager of Hyundai Corporation Jin Han Chung said expressed their intention of setting up ‘wind turbine assembly plant’ to assist their projects.

The delegation was also given presentation on Thar coal prepared by Thar Coal and Energy Board where they pointed their interest.

Motiwala assured his support for the project and vowed the delegation of full cooperation in locating the suitable land as per the government’s investment policy.

Sindh Board of Investment and Korean entrepreneur will formulate a strategy to sign Memorandum of Understanding during the visit of investment delegation headed by Chief Minister Sindh to South Korea from May 17-28 2011.
