South Korea unveils first images of KF-X design with European missiles

KF-X radar contract was awarded to Hanwha when it was Hanwha-Thales. I'm sure Thales still has say in the company. Hanwha will develop the radar along with Elta. So it's essentially a Korean-Israeli-French radar with a French missile.

I'm not sure how much Thales is involved anymore, but my understanding is that Elta was contracted for quality control/independent testing & verification purposes, not actual development.

I think both are different as India's non european jet are Russian which are actually rivals of Europe and therefore source code of missiles cannot be shared with russians ..

Korea is an ally and has not relationship with Russians so probably they will be allowed ...
India is not allowed to integrate Meteor with non-European Jets.
Is South Korea going to be treated differently?

Not the same. When it comes to integration of the Meteor on MKI, India does the integration, we don't need the Russians. The Russians won't get any data about the Meteor. As for LCA, there is no Russian tech on it, we chose an Israeli radar.

MBDA rejected integration of Meteor on MKI and LCA because the radars are non-European. Primarily because we chose an Israeli radar over a French one recently for LCA. So it's just politics.

Korea may or may not face such politics. And the politics directed against India won't be relevant.

Notably, the disclosed photos of the KF-X design shows the jet is armed with European missile systems. Four Meteor long-range air-to-air missiles developed by MBDA are shown to be nestled under the fuselage, while two IRIS-T short-range guided air-to-air missiles are mounted on respective wingtip launchers.

The photos show the KF-X design armed with European missile systems.

It's to demonstrate the availability of weapon system integration. The primary user of this plane are ROKAF & TNI-AU both of them primarily use US missiles system (AMRAAM & Sidewinder) however both of them also need the option to carry Meteor & IRIS-T or South Korean made missile system.

Is South Korea’s future fighter jet partnership with Indonesia falling apart?
The KF-X fighter jet development partnership between South Korea and Indonesia is reportedly in tatters.

Last I've read the radar is based upon SAAB design, Elita provide the ECM, and Thales provide the avionic.
